yea i was running around with the mouse at the start and couldnt figure out how the hell people were running in such straight lines haha.

I remember loving San'doria. What a cool place to start your adventure. A huge castle nestled within a vibrant medieval city. I was quite impressed. Even much later when I was an uber-leet expert player, I still loved going back to San'doria because it felt like coming home.

EDIT: oh yeah, i didn't realize you could change armor until i was like lvl 10 hahaha..i remember going into the equip menu and thinking "wtf is this for?" haha...good times

then the role-players speaking in rp....that was fun for like 3 minutes

getting my ass whipped by non agressive enemies blew, only later i found out you actually spent like 90% of your game life leveling off innocent rabbits, birds, flies and crabs. (such variety :/)


my 1st trip on the boat was like "Damnnnnnnnnnnnn" this world is HUGE!

the funny dumass shouts and random RP speak was fun and imaginative no matter how stupid and careless it got, now all you hear is stupid teleport/casino/AF/quest help shouts

overall yea addictive, but lately other than the friends we all still have I see more bad in this game than good

i just had these thoughts:

how am i going to type without a keyboard? (im on ps2)
since when was that sword in my invetory?
is that mithra really a girl?

yeah, so after reading about how to play warrior, i got an axe cuz it was supposed to be good. then i read another thing that said greataxes were better so i lvled that. then i couldnt afford a neckchopper so i bought a greatsword.

so when i was about kazham lvls, i had axe, greataxe, great sword all lvled lol.....

I remember seeing the game place a marker on some map at the start for the person I needed to give the coupon, but I didn't learn how to use map markers (even making them show up) until I was around Qufim, I think.

I also remember leveling up off bees and worms in Gusta until like 4, or such, then figuring I'd take on a sappling, and I had my ass handed to me.

Probably the funniest realization I had first starting out was this. I started out as a WAR, and in like one of my first experiences working with other people doing a bastok mission in Dagruf Wadi. We pulled a goblin butcher, and the party wiped. While we all laid there dead, Medic (the WHM) asked me why I didn't use provoke at all. lol. Up until then, I had only used it as a quick way to claim mobs when competing against other people (Like the furamoles). It wasn't too long after that I switched to WHM.

That first trip to Jeuno was also a crazy one. We didn't have a high-level escort, or anything, so it was just a group of us that kinda kamikaze'd it.

I Started in the beta when yarr was at work and i made a Hume With same Talisin Face and I was windy b/c i thought it looked cool and then i bumped into this taru who showed me how to move and talk and showed me out to Saburta and i was so araid of not knowing my way back and be stuck and this guy Showed me always to Murha boat and i was ike this is cool and i was susprised it was cheap and i wen on the boat had a blast and the then got dropped off in Selbina. the Taru guiy told me to set my homepoint there and well he was lvl 9 and wiser and i was lvl 6 i believe and was so proud i got lvl 6 in 5 hrs on my 1st day. and So i set my HP there and he decided he had to log without saying anything and just disappared i looked for a long time for him and i kept dieing in Dunes kept HP back to selb and was so mad and was asking for help out but no one was answering me and i went back on the boat and couldn't get back to windy and i use to think that Dhamels agrroed so i got use to get agrro from gobs and everything and kept haveing to HP till i just dumped the Char in total and made a Mithra Thf (omg orginal haha).

Then i Reroled the Mithra Thf named Vixen (don;t ask my friend made the char) and I went to bastok and use to love how the Air ship Came in and stuff. I rember dieing by doing a Quest to Dwuf wandi and Freaking out to my friend how some stupid game would have me run so far all the time just to die so Fast on things. Then I Ran into this PT going to Pal mines and Pleding to join their pt as a lvl 9 Thf and they Said ok sure since beta was close to close soon and i wanted to experence a pt. i think. I remeber them killing a Quadav and i said "Oh my Gosh!" took me 10 mins to type but i did. And this Chick said "Hahaha he said "Oh my Gosh" thats so Cute!" and i remeber thinking " Man this is why Chicks shouldn't play Video games" haha.


I remeber You ket in Reg's LS and we needed a pld for things and i remebr thinking how much a of a Girl you were for being so scared to Die haha.

I was like, OMG I dont even need my mouse

I got PL by a friend from 1 to 10 on the 1st day. When I end up in Dune, I didnt even know how to start a PT or how to make a macro. All I remember is I was using ctrl+m to choose my spell.

Oh yeah I remember I bought an onion sword for 1k LoL.

I was a big FF fan but had never played on online game and was not crazy about the idea. My husband bought me the game...and I spent a couple hours installing it (blah). Finally figured out how to get a name I liked (computer-generated) and pick what character I wanted...by then I was like three hours into setup and so frustrated I thought "Goddammit I'm gonna log off and never play this crap if I don't get started soon!"

Then there I was running through Sandy in my n00b hume chick armor, wondering how to get outside. I saw these other characters moving around and asked my son what they were for and he said "Mom, those are the other players." I was hooked right there lol.

I leveled Warrior to 10 then realized I absolutely hated not having magic, so I started leveling Red Mage. At level 10 I got invited to my first party and I didn't even know how to accept the invitation. Yeah...I miss being a n00b sometimes too. That's why I hate doing the same thing over and over again. New adventures for the new adventurer...Yes, please.

lol I remember Talisin being stuck in the Dunes in beta. We had no idea what the Dunes were or how to get him back. It was only beta so he just made a new character to save time.

lol.


I remember thinking how much more atmosphere this game had than I was use to playing. It felt like a normal Non MMORPG (I was use to DAoC, Everquest, Diabolo and so on)

i remember seein my first orc, i was actualy at arims house before i started playing.. arim just got the game and i was watching him. ive called them pigs ever since. for some reason they look like pigs to me

the association probably comes more with the sound than the actual model skin, but then again they always reminded me of these guys too which i would consider hella pig-like:
