lol, the funny thing is.. that's entirely possible.. to unlock mimic, you must first obtain maat's cap.

I just double check, the page says New Adventures, not New Adventurer..
so ie. New quest and mission :)

It says New Adventures, not Adventurers, lol.

and if it was Adventurers, it'd probably be NPCs they'll add. like maybe a new kind of Nomad Moogle *shrug*

Jobs in FFXI (as related to prior FF games, based on skills/weapons):

Monk - Monk, Black Belt, Master*
White Mage - White Mage/Wizard, Shaman,
Black Mage - Black Mage/Wizard, Warlock,
Red Mage - Red Mage/Wizard, Sorcerer(FF5), Time Mage.
Thief - Thief (in FF I, Thf turned into ninja after you killed the rat for bahamut).
Samurai - Samurai
Ninja - Ninja
Paladin - Paladin, Knight, Mystic Knight
Dark Knight - Dark Knight
Ranger - Ranger, Hunter
Dragoon - Dragoon, Lancer
Bard - Bard
Summoner - Conjurer, Summoner
Beast Master - Beast Master, Trainer

Jobs that have no equal in FFXI:
Chemist - basically this has been turned into the craft of Alchemy
Dancer - Like bard, but use dances.
Blue Mage -Uses Blue Magic - monster abillities.
Mimic/Mime - Mimics last attack/spell
Scholar - Scan enemies for weaknesses.
Geomancer - Uses Earthen Magic - does elemental magic based on the location.

Karateka, Sage - Master jobs From FF3j. Karateka could hite for max combos every round, while sage could use and magic, including summons.

I will add more if anything else comes to mind.

Only job I'd like to see is Time Mage. With things like Hastega III.

The "Pirates" on the Selbina boat are necromancers aren't they?

Necromancy- To summon the undead

I remember the people on the boat would summon the skeletons and it had the same summoning animation as summoning an avatar.

True, but looking back, necromancer isn't a job of the FF series. SE is trying to stay unique from the other (MMO)RPG's out there.

I think confuse will be added in this expansion. They've had a song programed for awhile that gave resist against it. amia seem to be necromancer esque by their description. Also think they'll be able to charm or confuse based on being "bewitching". Imps will probly agro just to be bastards, and also have a horn which could confuse or stun and probly act as a long range linking thinger. Apkallu just look like this expansion's eft. Little native things that don't agro but can/will beat the shit out of you if needed, while using annoying abilities. The fat fishy thing is most likely just a new pugish thing, maybe even able to eat people o_O? Wild guess, but eh. Wonder what the food effects will be from that aybe def+ from the fish being high in defense? Says scales for defense, but I don't see any scales on it lol.

As for jobs, I think gambler, juggler, and alchemist could work alongside blue mage. Gambler, melee with random based ws/ja :D I'd love to play as one \:D/ Juggler could be like a ranger with throwing I guess, maybe even some throwing ws finally. Would be nice if SE made some cheap to make or npcable throwing things for them, or have DD chakram and stuff. They could get the juggler abilities that confuse and crap, or add those to ws. Smile could reset a random ability (not two hour) to a selected member maybe o.0 Alchemist~ kinda like a more melee and healer based rdm. They could use things that are kinda like ninja tools to mix that alcemists could make so the real alchemists don't get pissed off about them stealing their job.
Light enfeebles, maybe some self buffs, and of course ^^ cures! Think it'd work out very nice, especially with a nicely working dd side to it as well (not talking rdm dd).

<.< Oh, and I think that dude in crimson is a drk, his scythe is just at the end of a swing and facing away from the camera.

edit: Took out the accidental Miyamoto thing

I would love to see chemist added. It could be like a new item dependent job like RNG and NIN but istead of tanking or dealing damage they would be like a mage, more powerful whm/blm skills. They would have to use job specific stuff like tools to nins. it would get too expensive if they used the current alchemy stuff.

Also Cham forgot Templar, but thats a DRG type job with some magic abilities.

lol, that'd be something they could put the hidden "luck" thing towards.
