Hey all! How's the FFXI world treating you all? I've had a pretty nice end of summer, just lazing around before I start work back in NYC in sept. I'm heading out thursday for a trip to the arctic for 2 weeks =).

WoW's been fun, I currently have a lvl 40 undead priest. It's kinda neat, he's a lot more dynamic then I thought (based off WHM in FFXI), and is actually one of the best solo classes in the game. Anyways, keep up the good work, seems like you guys have become pretty popular on ifrit! Nice new forum banner too, even though I was featured in the old one =/. Take care.

Hrm, it's not open beta yet, it's still just by invite, I signed up waaaay back in the days when I just started FFXI.

I still have my account. Here in Ca I uninstalled the game (I had 4 megabytes free on my disk drive =/), but I still have it in NYC, where I am heading back soon.

I play on the PvE server, because right now, the PvP isn't exactly perfect, and it's just a bunch of little kids camping low lvl areas all day and making everyone's playtime miserable =/. How it works is if you are in contested areas (which are pretty much any area outside a major faction city), you can be attacked at any time. It's quite a bit of fun, kind of like Guild Wars if anyone played that during it's free alpha test. It's a lot faster then FFXI, and leveling is no where near as bad a grind of just endlessly killing mobs for 90exp. You don't go into a separate little "combat mode" and have a turn based fighting. All spells have different casting speeds, and weapons have different attack speeds (damage is conveniently displayed in DPS). Anyhoo, it's pretty neato, and I'll most likely be playing it in release =).

Some of my friends who played Beta all said it's pretty good. Depends on how things turn out, most likely we'll either give it a try or go for EQ2. I had a lot of complaints about how EQ turned out but to be honest, that was my worst addiction of the century, I want to give it a try if my EQ friends decide to go for it. Good thing is, they'll all be softcore so I wont have any pressure to stay on for a long time.

FFXI is the last stop on the bus for me. After FFXI Ill just stick to non MMO games.

Wow and EQ2 dont even spark the slightest interest.

Na i think i'm about 75% sure that i will buy WoW and try it out maybe play with some friends from work. i like that fact it is faster and u can actualy have guild warz not on LS yelling at another LS.. calling them poopy pants and hope they runa away.

i'm prolly gonna pick up Monster Hunters for PS2, for when i'm bored and not playing ffxi or one of the other hundred or so things going on in my llife, those games are nice cuz u can pop on for a little bit and get something done instead of logging elventy billion hours to get to the fun stuff. if CoP doesn't impress me i will prolly go to Tabula Rasa coming out in Dec or something. I dunno, i doubt this will be my last mmorpg.
