But it's not a joke. It's the exact same thing as calling sobriety a joke. Just because someone doesn't want to drink and wants to avoid allowing substances to take control away from themselves doesn't mean they're crying out for attention.

Having an opinion and a lifestyle isn't the same as commercializing your lifestyle and using it as a defining quality. It's the same reason there's so many homosexuals who keep their mouth shut because they don't want to be defined by their sexual preference. OTHER people classify them when they speak up, yet there are many of them who speak up and demand awareness of their plight for their lifestyle.

Also, I said I DO eat meat, and I DO take medicine to lessen bad headaches. I'm not going to be in pain, but I'm certainly not imposing dependancy on myself.

I don't care what anyone does. But if you go around acting better than anyone else because of it you can suck a dick. This goes for everything. If you think what you do is "Right." Fine, good for you. Maybe we can talk about it, but if you talk down to me because of it I lose worlds of respect for you. First off because you just sound retarded, and second because you obviously don't really believe in it. You really need to think about what you would do if no one else was around.

If there was no one else in your life, would you be a vegan? Would you even give a shit? If you look at yourself and realize that you're doing things for other people, you're doing them for the wrong reasons. That's why i don't try to impress anyone, I'm not looking for anyone's approval. When I was straightedge through high school I did it because it made me feel better about myself. I still hung out with all my druggie friends and didn't care, it's their choice.

Most muslims don't drink, smoke or do drugs either (the ones that are strict about their religion wihout being extremists), but they arent classed as attention seeking for it.

On a side note, I feel proud that I helped to convert a muslim student on my course to the ways of the alcoholic after he moved away from his parents.

lol, that's a totally different kind of people than the ones I'd be poking fun at, since I'd consider that a reasonable practice.

This thread lacks irl examples. They're real examples of people who don't drink or reasonable vegetarians (there are no reasonable vegans), but I enjoy poking fun at the ones that pick it up like you would a t-shirt at Hot Topic. Its just fun to generalize these kids since generalizations make things so much easier. And Dinav pretty much said everything else.

And in case some of you missed the fact, but Ponuh makes 99% of his posts with sarcasm and/or humor so chill out irl.

Emo = the newer version of that 80's hairmetal and glamour-rock type shit.. except the music is no where near as creative and talented as the 80's..

shit, i should just write emo songs.. fucking poetry about how much i hate my life cause my mom made me do my laundry and my porche doesnt have heated leather seats..

hell, another benefit of being emo, is you can wear your sisters pants.. you never have to buy a real pair of men's pants again! you can also probably share with your mother as well..

man fuck it, emo people should just go get a sex change, you already look more like a girl than most girls do.. finish it off... fucking fags..

Yarr showed me this thread and I'm pretty sure this is the funniest topic ever. Best burns too. I've made many a post about the whole "Emo/Scene/Random short forms/kill yourself/self-mutilating" business, but I'll say it again. Emo is such a poor excuse for being a whiney baby and trying to fit in. The fact that kids as young as even 12 "inject" (good use of this word, Ponuh) themselves into this whole fad is really sad. I'm fine with people being emotional and poetic, but seriously...a line has to be drawn somewhere. It seems that Emo-kids are trying to take over the world, and the media is playing right along. Companies are even marketing towards this group of individuals.

My message to Emo kids: Grow up, turn the damn light on and get a damn job, you bums. Oh, and buy pants that fit you. No one wants to see your tiny little flat ass puncture through when you're "skate boarding under a bridge". Damn. -- True story.

trends, fads, etc never really bothered me as much as when adults fall for this same shit when it comes to politics. I have friends that "say" they belong to one particular party because it looks cool. And somehow, this is very sad, because these people seem not to be able to think for themselves as adults. I guess their children fall for the latest trends and crap too, sigh, the cycle continues.

I hate the emo kids but I liked my hair when it was long and black. Does that classify me anywhere?

depends, do you wear eye liner and have it combed over to one side covering your eye?
