Well I have the NPC's working fine but the PC models make the program crash when I try to set the race...

C:/Program Files/PlayOnline/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/

Post that in the fields in the picture above, Rhin

It crashes when you goto PC mode (not NPC) because you didn't have the Japanese Unicode active *BEFORE* you unpacked the Model Viewer. This is exactly what happened to me for a while until I finally figured it out. A bunch of the files in that ZIP file contain Japanese Symbols, but without the support installed and active they will be unpacked with a different filename than they should be.

This is how to fix on Windows XP:

- First of all, delete the model viewer (not the ZIP file, thats fine).

- Next go to Regional Settings in Control Panel.

- Under Languages tab, check "Install Files for East Asian Languages". (You WILL need your Windows XP CD.)

- Click apply to get that installed.

- Under Advanced tab, there is a drop-down box allowing you to set a language for non-Unicode compatible programs. Open the list, and select Japanese. (Note: This has the stupid side effect of turning the path separator "\" into a Yen Currency symbol. Ignore it, everything will work as normal, it just looks weird.)

- Restart computer after OK.

- Now you can unzip the Model Viewer.

Additionally, before things will work, set the paths to FFXI as shown in those screenshots earlier. The path, by default is listed wrongly as "SQUARE", instead of "SquareEnix". (I assume its just Square in Japan)

If the Yen thing starts to get on your nerves, just set the "Japanese" Unicode thingy back to what it was. But you will need to set it back to Japanese before you can run the Model Viewer again.

No problem. :D
