light/dark SC dmg is pretty random...I've gotten over 100% return before, and I've gotten 10 return before.

As a side note, I think there's some sort of multiplier in level 3 SCs and from my experience I think it's in the amount of WS in chain. Maybe a higher level than me can confirm/disprove this.

Damn SC newbies.

the elemental effects MAX damage works thusly.. and is affected downward by stuff like resists/shell and what not

lvl 1 SC = 25% of the previous WSs dmg.
lvl 2 SC = 50%
lvl 3 = 100%

for all chains adding another person into the chain an extra 25% dmg.

Thus we see A) Last hit matters a lot
and B) more people in the fornt of a SC isn't a bad thing for example my warrior can't chain with a thief, but if I use Sturmwind to pull Aggro for a RLB -> Viper combo the resulting 3 man SC makes the scission effect just as strong as the usual distortion effect... Not counting the fact you get better resist+ Magic Bursts with two elements to choose from.

So a 3-man light chain like

asuran fists -> Blade: jin ( fusion) -> Spinning slash. if the spinning slash hits for 1k dmg you'll see up to a 1250 dmg light effect.

Its fully possibly to get very high multipliers by chaining 225 WSs in such a way as to not make a lvl 3 chain. Such as Evisceration (bear in mind its new type) -> Spinnging slash ( frag) -> tachi: gekko -> wheelign thrust ->back to the first block. etc etc. you could keep going indefintely until the mob ran out of hp or you tp... i've personally never seen a multipler higher than 2x WS dmg ( 6 WS chain last WS making lvl 3)... but you're welcome to try and test if thats a hard cap or just laziness on my part.

I've seen a 2x in a 3 man chain...

well I need to get more info about level 3 sc now cuzz too many party are using mostly level 2 and 1, So when can you start those level 3 sc on your level for WS.

I've also seen a spinning slash do 1100 and the light SC do about 1600+ in a 3 man SC, which is about 150% so something doesn't add up there.

its been a long time ffor me so its possibly light chains are +50% per person, but i really don't think so.

Anyway test it yourself. I don't care what i said is at least mostly right... or right enough to get you on the right track.
