Defintely sounds like a mixed bag for summoners. On the other hand they may be able to MB more easily, but no more 2000+ dmg on lowbie mobs it seems.
Because we all know the point of leveling summoner to 70+ is so you can beat up on Goblin Thugs... Frankly, I don't think that "nerf" is even much of one. What summoner is going to go around farming low mobs with an avatar out? Maybe Carbuncle, but even so, it's just kinda pointless.
I'm curious how they're going to do the AH thing, though. Because my initial thoughts are kind of pointing me in the direction that it'll lower the price of stacks of items, but that's it. People are going to need to pay a ton more to AH an item, so what are they going to do? They're going to sell the item for that much more.
If someone wants to sell a Venomous Claw for 6 mil, and the tax to sell it is 100k, they're going to just sell the claw for like 6.2 mil now. And then they next time, they'll have to pay like 107k to sell it. On the other extreme, it's going to mean that people will be thrown into some nasty price cutting war, so that they don't have to eat some 100k loss as a result of their item being returned, since someone else underbid them. That will work to the advantage of the buyers, but people relying on AH prices for gil are kinda screwed.
Frankly, I'm just happy that I fish. I hate using the AH as my main source of income. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, all the same. I would like to see prices decrease, though. I just don't have faith that will happen as a result of this update (Aside from stacks of items).
