FFXI Windower isn't that bad... seriously..

Reasons why: For one.. on PC.. for those of whom like alt-tabbing through various programs.. i.e. Winamp / FFXI (Having music control as you play FFXI.. for a small example).. or how about, if you get an IM and your ISP is AOL.. you can alt-tab over, and check who IM'd you, same goes for E-mail.. the windower is NOT a macro.. it does NOT immitate any actions that are supposed to be done by the player him/herself.. it simply makes it to where FFXI can be "alt-tabbable".. and I know many people that would find that, and that aspect only, very very usefull.. including myself.

However.. bad things about the Windower that you should know..

With FFXI Windower, if you know how.. and some people do. You can manipulate an aspect of your PC with the help of FFXI Windower (Not directly using the Windower itself however, just the alt-tab option) that creates a speed hack on FFXI.. which violates the TOS (Terms of Service agreement), and is considered hacking.. as GM's have put players into "jail" for such actions.. forbidding the use of the technique ever again, and they crack down hard on it as well.. speedhackers that is. Might I add that I hate hackers, in games atleast, they ruin the gameplay overall.. and I pay monthly for a game and I don't want my playing experience to be thwarted by some asshole that thinks he's hot sh!t with a speedhack beating me to the punch when it comes to hunting NM's, or anything else where speed amongst players is an issue in competition for certain things.. it's simply not cool/fair.

Also, FFXI Windower is completely undectable by Squenix.. unless they manually search through you're files.. which is illegal for them to do, unless they manually ask you for the consent to do so.. otherwise it would be a violation of privacy.. which is illegal (for the same reason that having a trojan on someone is illegal, and you can be taken to court for trojanning someone). I note.. this is as far as I know.. and I'm pretty damned sure I'm right.. please do correct me if I'm wrong.. but no one has been "Busted" for using FFXI Windower.. they have been "Busted" for abusing FFXI Windower.. and using it to fulfill other goals that are out of malicious intent (i.e. The speed-hack).

Overall most people don't know shit about how to manipulate a game, infact I'd be sure that atleast 80% of NA players don't know anything about in-game packetry sent server/client side, etc.. or what packetry even is at that.. essentially, for a person to abuse the FFXI Windower.. they'd have to have atleast SOME knowledge in such doings.

Which leads me to the conclusion that FFXI Windower is an OK program... for those using PC, as I'm sure many find it very useful.. and if it not be for the idiots that actually put for effort to f*ck up the game.. I doubt there would be any negative stigma related to this program at all. It's only a tool that is used to make the experience of a PC gamer for FFXI better.. if Squenix doesn't like it to the extent of doing something about it, then what they should do is make the game "alt-tabbable".. because it's rediculous that you can't alt-tab FFXI.. but hey, that's just in my honest opinion.

And as far as what all you can do to manipulate the game with the FFXI Windower.. I have no idea.. and I don't really care either.. as far as I'm concerned, the only reason I'm even willing to pay monthly for a game, is that because I'm insured by the company that the servers are hack-free (to the best of their ability of course).. and that's a rarity in gaming, which I desire.


Peejo: As far as lag goes with the Windower.. it really probably depends on the dynamics of that persons computer.. if they have a powerful computer and can handle many applications running at once, then it will run smoothly~ however if they don't, I'm sure it will lag all to hell.

I didn't even read your long winded post. Fact is that it's in the same realm as a bot. It doesn't matter what kind or what your rationalization for using it is. Bots = Bad

Umm.... same realm as bots? Are you sure about that? Because last time I checked.. bots imitated actions that the player was supposed to carry out.


So tell me.. once again, where's the hidden macro to Windower? Oh wait! There isn't one.. wow.. and as far as you not reading my post, and then replying out of ignorance (lack of knowledge).. eh.. ok!

well I dont like to cheat online at all and I paid this service to have "fun", anyhow I like to be challenged, see places, and new enemy to see how well I can take them down with or without death. Its the way of RPG is played.
