I saw this over at KI.com and thought it was a bit interestin... This is kinda outdated, but I wonder if they will do it again

The following is a compilation of frequently asked questions regarding World emigration. Before preparing for World emigration, please refer to following.

Question:
Will I be able to continue with any of my ongoing Quests?
Will I be able to keep my Conquest Points and Rank Points?

Answer:
Your character status will be carried over to the new World.
This includes levels, skills (battle, magic, synthesis), gil, items, Mog House's Mog Safe and layout, gardening status, home point, home country or mission rank, conquest points, etc. Your PlayOnline friend list, email, album, etc. will not change.

Question:
Will all characters applying be able to emigrate?

Answer:
All characters that applied during the application period will emigrate. Depending on the application turnout, it is possible that your character will be reallocated or merged into another World.

Question:
When is the application deadline?
What will happen if I barely make the application process?

Answer:
On November 29th, 2003 at 7:00 (PST), the World Shifter from each World will disappear thus ending application. If you are in process of applying right before this time, the latest World emigration status will be saved. When the World Shifter disappears you will not be able to confirm your changes therefore be sure to take adequate time when finishing your application. There can be no more changes after the application deadline.

Question:
Is there any cost for World emigration?

Answer:
No. Any character can apply for free.

Question:
When I emigrate to the new World, where is my starting point?

Answer:
You will start from the last position you logged out from. There are no changes with your home point.

This is something I could never convince myself to do, unless I could convince everyone i know to go with.

I can imagine entire LS's signing up, would suck for someone to be offline a few days and miss it though, hah.

Good thing about being moved to a much smaller server: Easiesr to camp NMs. Bad thing: Nobody to buy the crap you win off the NMs you just claimed. ><

Im would like to have all the NAs shift from ifrit to a new server. Ifrit is has most of the really hard core 24/7 japanese players on it. Making it almost impossible for an NA HNM LS to have any fun.

Are you sure it's not the same on all the other servers?

yup, you can goto other HNM LS forums and they all get the king HNMs any time its up in NA time. However most other servers have the king HNMs (nidhogg, kingbehemoth, bigturtulething.) run around for a good hour before the japanese players can rally enough people.

I called PlayOnline yesterday to beg them some more to switch my character to another account. Of course they said no and did the /point /laugh but told me that if they have another emigration this year, characters can be moved to other accounts. :D But he also said that another emigration was not probable this year, but more likely next year. :x /cries some more...

I heard that they're putting up a couple of new servers today with the Maintenence.
