I fixed it for you Chana... although I think everyone who plays knows it's true. BTW I hope you're not so vain that you thought that post was about/directed towards you. The way I see it a lot of people turn to loot goals when their fun/friendship goals don't go anywhere, which happens A LOT (I know from experience). Either way you slice it both our posts say the same thing. Guess there's really no reason to play

1. you won't make true friends
2. no one will care how much you accomplish/what gear you have/get
3. you're just wasting the time you have to do other shit like date-rape

Nah, I didn't think it was directed to me, it's just one of my pet peeves when my name gets attached to something I didn't say, especially since a lot of people don't read entire threads and might think that what you quoted what I actually posted.

P.S. Btw, no I don't agree with it. Not trying to argue with you, I just have a different philosophy. There's a whole mess of people in both FF and IRL and most don't care about you at all. However in both places theres a few people that do and that's what makes either worthwhile for me. I don't expect all or even lots of people to care about me because I know for sure I only have the time and energy to really care about a few people. However, I do try to act decently and respectfully towards everyone unless they give me reason to do otherwise. I think that's all you can hope for out of any situation. Sometimes you get burned, but that's life.

ffxi needs a pvp server

ffxi needs evil players... old old game called gemstone III used to use acutally players selected for their RPing to be the evil villians, thus becoming part of the story. Even had this whole storyline where 13 people were selected at random, and if they were all kidnapped by the evil side, the new zone would open with an invasion of the towns, otherwise it would open with a invasion by the good side. People would get attacked at random and then at that moment realize they were the target and then the whole server ran to protect them, it was awesome. but I don't play ffxi anymore, still would be hot to see that.

I usually play evil aligned characters in D&D, and they are more fun to play. All the "evil" players would get banned for MPK, stealing and griefing in this game. FFXI is a pussy ass game in that respect. No open PvP either. Add on the fact that there will be no graphical updates or level cap raising ever due to the shitty design of the game just adds to the overall picture. FFXI isn't close to the horrible "work" atmosphere of something like Lineage II (its like a horrible job), but it is pretty bad. Someone said MMOs are just fancy chatrooms and I agree. Huge wastes of time that you notice less, due to talking with friends.

i acutally find lineage II way easier to deal with then ffxi, its just easier to drop everything in lineage II and do something in RL without the threat that you will misss that spawn/raid/group/whatever else may be important... Lineage II is like yeah, I'll jusst do that another day... I haven't played lineage II for like a month now, but I can log on whenever and just pick up where I left off, like a good game of diablo... FFXI would be hell if I came back now, no equipment, and I wouldn't be able to get a party cause I don't have the uber equipment I used to, and I would have to wait around for a party to form that "needs" me... lol lineage II ftw in my opinion, ffxi seems more like a bad job..

both are good games though, and both try to eat your life like the devil scooping your soul out with a cocktail fork...

My friend Matt has a 63 TH, 55 Silver Ranger, 56 SE, and a 58 PR. Post 55 Lineage II is like 10 times the painful grind FFXI is... and you solo it. Just plain grinding, and its all autoattacking and spamming soulshots... Matt doesn't even look at the screen when he is xping at level 63.... something wrong with a game when you can play 2 characters at once and only touch the keyboard once every minute or so. That game isn't worth me taking a shit on. Full of RMT fags and bots that farm everything.... the bots in that game are not for claiming.. they actually xp their characters to max level just via bot... afk level grinding ftl. All there is to do in L2 after you hit max level is lvl another char or subclass (same as another char really) or pvp all the time. It is the most boring game I have ever played in my life.

ffxi was for the most part not a disappointment. in my opinion, no other game ive ever played had such a great & complex battle system utilitizing so many different skills, not to mention the teamwork.

gameplay 10/10
storyline 7/10
graphics 10/10
music 10/10 (some ppl dont like the music + theyre fools)
interface 9/10

lol thats why i like lineage it doesn't require any effort. I work for a living on my computer at home and work, the last thing I want is a game that requires any effort to play...

As for FFXI, my only gripe was the lack of variety in the game. But thats also the problem with almost every other mmo also, so I don't know. I expected more from the game, and all I got was this lousy message board lol

I agree with everything but interface. I think it's the worst interface of any MMO.

Yeah the interface and controls in FFXI are really bad. The questing is also reall poorly done (missions are awesome). Music was ok, but it looped and drove people nuts. The background sounds sucked though.

FFXI was great but you could tell that S-E had very very little idea how to make a MMG.
