ok lemme tell my story, I bought FF on compy when it first came out. then i switched to PS2 after my sister DL'ed a virus onto my comp. so i eventually got back to working on my compy and its completely clean out all i have is AIM and Windows XP on here now what im wondering is can i still install the Same FFXI disks, i would check myself but i gotta use ikes cause mine blew up in the drive. Also, im kinda illiterate when it comes to computer hardwares. so anyways i want to update to a graphics card, right now im using the standard Motherboard thingy. Would a newer and more powerful graphics card increase the speed and clarity in FF or w/e game i choose? and if so what Graphics card to you recomend with lets say a budget of $120USD? oh and i nono what the Motherboard is called or brand name but my processor is a AMD Anthlon if that helps any =/ And also what is memory? and should i upgrade this too if i get a newer graphics card? I also ran the benchmark thing and it said my comp was a Decent challenge and was like 1 point from even match (if that helps out any) |

Maybe you should give us ur system specs. A computer system has a lot of bottlenecks so placing a high grade Vid card in a slow system would be useless. |

Ahh your using an intergrated Mobo Vid card... those types of cards are usually very underpowered. Luckily for you there are a lot of budget gamer vid cards out there in the $1oo range. I would recommend going with an ATI vid card. Although they might not the fastest at times, the cards themselves are very realible and stand the test of time... I should know since I burned a lot of vid cards in my time T_T damn you geforce. Anyway try to get an AGI 128ram+ on your new card. A good place to shop for a good deal is ebay. Good luck. |

if your graphics card is shared then there may very well be a possibiliy that you don't have agp port, and i'm 100 percent sure you don't have a pci express slot either. So that leaves you with a pci graphics card. Which really won't do you much of any good since they have alot of limitations. You may be just better off getting more ram. It'll help your computer run slightly faster and be able to open more applications without it slowing down |

It should work. I cant remember how the install process goes and when you need the CD-Key but I think you only need the key for an account. Im not sure but if thats the way then you can use his disks. Hell I used a PS2 CD-key on my PC version once cause I lost my manual. |
