dude.... you did not beat the game, In my eyes the below pre-requisites qualify as beating the game:

Attain all AF for you job whether you use it anymore or not : P

Attain Lvl 75 and.......unlock final weaponskill for your main weapons you use

Rank 10 - all 3 cities

Max Fame all cities - do a few quests for more background and stories

ZM 17 - defeat all

Defeat Divine Might BCNM - assisgning this prerequisite because it is probably one of the most fun fights and is related to zilart mission storyline.

CoP - defeat all - this is still not complete as new stuff will unlock shortly

Kirin Captivator title obtained (also have defeated the 4 other Gods as well as the NMs that drop their pop items)

Dynamis Interloper title obtained - all areas (demonstrates you have gone and defeated the main areas as well as have defeated the DL)

Played Balista more than 5 times

having actually used or borrowed a kraken club for a short time ^^

*having actually seen argus (at least once in your in-game career)

Having actually seen if not engaged or defeated all 3 of the Land Kings (BCNM counts)

Have beaten an actual beast-seal and kindred seal BCNM and attained loot or money.

Have beaten an ENM.

Have claimed and killed an NM before and gotten the good drop. ^^

Have been in an all JP PT

Have actually gotten a JP to join your PT

Have learned a little bit of Japanese in the process of playing this game

Everything else in game is for more enjoyment or loot or E-Penis gratification.

The above would qualify as beating the game as their is no more actual story to follow after other than upgrading Relic, which I do not see a majority of people even attempting because it is not exactly necessary for FFXI story completion. Some of the above is not related to story completion but they make for more of the more memorable moments in one's in-game career.

So you better come back untl you have done all of the above :!:

This is very close of my "to do" list and I'm glad it's almost completed. Just need a few more CoP mission after sea, DL, and kill KB and Niddhog :'(

I look at it as the story took some horrible twist and I was disgusted with the outcome, so I put the book down. ;p

Nah, my memory is bad usually, but when I don't finish something like that, it can haunt me for years

And CoP mission's plot isnt bad SS. Well, at least as good as the normal rpg out there.

I disagree with that long list of "beat the game" stuff. As long as we keep paying, SE will keep creating new things to add to that list, so you would never "beat the game" by that definition.

IMO, Shu beat the game because he got out of it what he wanted to achieve and he let go. To him and all the other people who did so, congrats ^^

I contend that if you can't let go of the game, then the game's beating you

I still have a few things I want to do in the game, so I'll keep playing, but I certainly don't feel compelled to do everything on the list and anything new that SE adds.

This was just a jot-list for those that want to get their money's worth, but yes centhea's comment is also correct. So, in retrospect, there are 2 ways to beat the game......however the most important stuff is the storyline, if you beat everything mission story related then you beat the game.....(Kirin isn't even related to this area) so beating the game story would probably be:

Rank 10 all cities
Max fame
Zilart complete
CoP complete
Dynamis Complete

I wouldn't say rank 10 in Sandy or Bastok even count for storylines, I don't think I even remember Bastok's lol.
