Apparently the quest for this item has been figured out. In case you don't know, Maat's cap has the following stats:

STR+7 DEX+7 AGI+7 VIT+7 INT+7 MND+7 CHR+7
Enchantment: Teleport (unlimited?)
Lv.70 All Jobs.

Beyond the Stars

Description (Rough translation)
"Once you pass all of Maat's final challenges/trials, Maat's secret will be made clear."

In Other Words
Level all jobs to at least 66 and defeat Maat with each job.

This is a regular ENM Drop u do not have to have all jobs to 66+.. u just have to beat it and hope it drops plain and simple~

I've talked to Maat as my lvl 60 warrior and he told me that I can challenge him again if I bring a warrior's testimony. I'm not sure if you can fight him before lvl 66 though, if I get a testimony I'll try though >.>

A friend said he saw it on a JPN taru in Gusgen on our server. I want one. There's no way in hell I'm leveling all jobs to 66 and fighting him >_> I heard from several people that's what you gotta do. That's just nuts.

Meh, he told me to bring a pld test paper and fight him again, he would get worked over by my lvl 5 pld.

Pretty sure he just asks you to bring whichever jobs test you currently are on when you speak to him.

Heh yeah I don't think the quest exists really. Pretty sure SE put it in the .dat files as a joke, but maybe I'll be proved wrong.

maat seems fucked up right now, i just beat him on my NIN and he's still saying the same thing as he was before i fought him.
