If you've been spamming Retry for the last few hours like me you've probably noticed it's not even "trying" to update any more and just dies after a single second of trying to connect. SE have moved about their servers to help load balance, they are now running on different IP address from the same old DNS. If you're having the above problem open a command prompt, type: ipconfig /flushdns Then reboot your computer. POL logged in for me first time and went straight into downloading the update with absolutely no trouble at all. |

didnt work for me, managed to play through and beat MGS1 and 2 on the hard setting and update still hasnt been able to finish, lol |

I feel bad for ya guys. I got home from work and started the update for both my computers. I took a little nap and now I'm on line with both chars. Guess it's all luck. T_T |

I think it's just the rebooting that helps :P At least for me, rebooting "reconnects" my network connection (the hub light blinks out and comes back on within 2 seconds before the POST) so it probably flushes any connections my network card is trying to hold onto. I ended up just rebooting three times, trying POL after each one, and finally got into a pretty fast server. Now I just have to hope that my cable doesn't go down midway through. |

My PS2 froze around the 50th try to d/l the update, so I reset and now it's working fine. Done with the checking. Hopefully it'll d/l all of it. /em crosses his fingers. |
