Post subject:  Congratulations CKD! Fafnir Down!
Keep in mind we never really fought Fafnir before. We did have him pop on us when we werent ready and he just ate us one at a time... lol.

We assembled and got to fafnir in a good time. Then.... we fought him for about 3-4 hours. the first 1-2 hours was us just trying to figure out how to fight him. The real fight was the last 2 hours.

I think he had to elemental seal + sleep at that time. Since we really don't have a lot of bards to keep MP coming in a really steady flow, we had to sleep Fafnir a few times to med, not to mention recover people who had fell from the AoE. Only problem was that as soon as they were raised, Fafnir had this nasty habit of using the AoE and those who are incapable of casting Stoneskin well... yeah =P

Fafnir is probably trivial to a lot of JP ls, however it is first time for CKD. We never had a chance to fight him until this time and it's amazing that we did it with 1 lvl 75 tank. We tried ninja back up, that went down fast. Anyways, it was a fun but long fight. If there's any fight that I actually fall in asleep while tanking, it's Fafnir. I fell asleep for about 5 sec when it was at 30% health >.<

Looks very very fun... but 4 hours? I wonder what the longest battle is.. errr.. what mob would be.

Would be interesting to know.. sigh, hate to go into battle with a mob that takes 8-12 hours to beat.. that'd be insane.. though I played (long ago) a game that was called a MUD (played on telnet/supporting client) and it was a text based game called Aardwolf.. (sounds gay, but was pretty fun at the time).. I heard of some people takin on stuff that lasted for very long periods of time.. up to 6-8 hours.

As was said fafnir only took that long because it was our first time. A normal fafnir kill takes in the neighborhood of 2 hours.

Kirin regularly takes 3 hours to kill... I think King behemoth takes a while as well.

Have everyone sub WHM(except the tanks of course), that's the easiest thing to do, it should take about 45 mins.
