Well I hit 70 a while ago and i decided its about time for me to (try and) beat up on Maat. Strat was to go in guillotine > i wing > guillotine then use hermese potion to flee kite maat while he was using blood weapon. Buuuut lil did i know i wings gave med sickness and i couldnt use my hermese potion leading to a giant downward clusterfuck causing me to lose my first test.

Run Number Two
I got a new strat from a drk friend in lsand i even got some mermen rings from my friend to help fock up Maats acc hopefully (Thx Viruk). Plan was to go in pull with absorb vit and bio 2 then engage meleeing. Then when my blink band ran i was goin to souleater > bloodweapon till he used his blood weapon and then i was goin to use tp from fighting and from opo necklace to spinning slash > i wing > cross reaper making distortion finishing him off before he could barely get into his blood weapon. Thats how the plan was supposed to go. But here is how it went. I went in got tp and stuff used persikos au lait, and a tav taco, blinked up then switched to main gear. (i put sun rings in for snipers ... bad choice youll see why later) i followed the plan till the skill chain part... then it all went straight down the poopshoot.

Scrambling then i started to spam high potions and just shot off my cross reaper for a measly 600.
Maat is at 50% now btw, then hoping to hang on using stun and weapon bash which lasted for about 3 secs, after that Maat continued to pummel me into submission

Me irl : "insert explitive here"

i threw my controller popping the keyboard out of it and messing up some keys (i was later able to salvage some of it), then just started screaming

Well that is my luck, I dont expect pity (God knows i wont get any :P ), just posted this to give everyone a quick laugh

btw any drks please post your strategies im hoping to find one that will work for me thx much

lol you got your order all wrong.

Basically, what you want to do is sleep to 100% TP and use Blink Band. Open up with Absorb-VIT and Bio II on Maat first off. Blink should save you couple of hits. Then you proceed to Spinning Slash >> IW >> Cross Reaper. Done right and you make Distortion.

That should take Maat down to half and he'll begin to Blood Weapon. Do NOT try and run with it up. Instead, go toe to toe with Maat. Weapon Bash him, Stun him, then Blood Weapon >> Soul Eater of your own. This should heal you quite a bit during this. By the end of that mess, try and stay alive long enough to seal the deal with Guillotine. That'll put Maat to sleep for good.

yea i did the same thing, but it seems spinning > cross reaper with distortion dmg kinda blows... well it did for me. id suggest using guillotine all the way and use it with a macro that equips your snipers just for that ws and equip back to phalanx the very next second.

not that its that easy to get, but maybe try getting the ENM drk ring, lv 61 w/ tp regen on it, bet itd help alot for maat heh

I had a serious talk with Maat over a cup of coffee about the last limit break quest, and he felt kinda tired that day so he just me have it. White mage Limit fight ftw. I heard RDM is the hardest, sorry about your bad luck with DRK.

RDM was so easy, actually 4 of the 5 fights I've been in are lol. Then again, I was a RDM 75 when I did mine, and if I fail then, i should deserve to be shot.

LMAO...I still have a RDM Maat strategy saved on my computer posted here like...well over a year ago.

I bet its still on here somewhere...

I remember Yarr sayin' I'll put the strategy to good use in about 10 years...going on 2 years now...he wasn't kidding, hahaha.

Heh, i remember doing maat 8 times over a weekend..... (6 of those times was in one day going back and forth from Oztroja (coffer camping) to maat) whenever i got a testimony.

Yeah... he drove me nuts...

The thing with blackmage, is that its all about whether u get resisted, so I was just unlucky those 6 times. (did the same thing each time)

As Kluya I killed him on my second try. PLD maat isn't that bad.

I watched Ephit (was my rl roommate at the time), and he killed maat on his third try.

I'm scared of RDM maat, i've heard it's really hard.

i just did my 3rd maat run.... but well get to that later

lets start out with my luck up to the fight, today i had my drivers test (yes i am only 16) everything was goin flawless until the homestretch then some fucker pulled right out in front of me and i had to slam on the breaks to avoid a crash. None the less even though this was not my fault i still got screwed and the driver guy failed me and took my 40$ test fee. Pissed i came home to unwind before i did my maat fight. I put a pizza in the oven sat down on the couch five minutes later i passed out. 2 hrs later i woke up to a giant fireball (aka my pizza) that was coming out of the cracks of the oven. After i busted out the fire extinguisher i made a ham sandwich to hold me over. Then i went to my room booted up ps2 and got all my stuff ready to fight maat. I enter equip opo necklace and blink band, then use sleeping potions right after one another. however my bad luck did not end with just the pizza. By using one potion right after one another my tp didnt go up past 22% i finally noticed this when i was about to pull with absorb vit and saw that my tp bar wasnt all bright and shiny. So SE pretty much just fucked me over right there. I tried to go in anyways. i pull with bio and vit engage get 100% tp launch off my Spinning Slash to Cross Reaper sc and it takes him down to 40% thinking i could still do this i get all pumped up but then he uses blood weapon. Then i launch mine off and i miss 5 outta the 6 hits that you get with the 30secound piece of shit 2 hr that Dark Knights are cursed with (Btw had 56 acc w/o food) spamming 12 high potions i was able to get him down to 25% ish then i run out of high potions and wondering and then

"Maat scores a critical hit Omnus takes 359 dmg"

this reducing me down to 23 hp Maat delays no longer and hits me with his damn bash thing and i die.

350k later Maat 3 Omnus nada

This after spending the whole previous night looking for somone to help me out with a test which my ls would have no part of and they only ignore me which my guess is because i dont have sky. Which its supposed to be a HNM/SKY ls but you can pretty much say fuck the HNM part. When i ask for help they dont even say no i just get no response :( (Thx Honeybunch for being the only one to help me)

after all of this i can pretty much say if SE fucks me over with a stupid glitch or anything like that again; Craven, Robbin my gear and money will be yours and im done with this game

Wow, that's pretty bad luck. My question was, why didn't you eat a sushi at least? Every hit needs to count on Blood Weapon. Sleeping pots don't instantly give you 25%, as you already notice from your TP bar. I'm pretty sure you would've won if you had 100% at the beginning instead of that 22% and tried to work your way to 100%. Better luck next time.

I beat Maat at lvl 66, so there's no way you could lose much worse than I did at lvl 70.

All Maat fights should be pretty easy now, back in the day you wore full af1 till lvl 75... not 30m in gear. There wasn't a food called sushi. [Do you need it?] [ACC Bonus] :P

P.S. I was so poor after I beat Maat(like 100k in meds), Yarr actually paid for my first dynamis <3 Yarr 8)

thing is acc wasnt the problem i can hit Exp mobs at my lvl without sushi and up until Blood Weapon i didnt miss a hit i know somewhere theres a GM sitting behind his comp making all of this happen to me mocking me
