I'm bored during emergency maintainence. Just curious if anyone has any arch rivals/nemesis'/enemies. Doesnt have to be drama related, can be a friendly competetion between friends or linkshell members.

As for myself, I've always strived to be better than Shiloh and Ketrebu. Two very good PLD, both which are in CKD. I loved Shiloh's attitude and his perception of the game, he always had a good heart and defended his friends til the end. He was also an old school PLD that hated kiting and loved straight-tanking. I love Ketrebu's knowledge of the game. When I joined CKD, I always went to Ket for advice and strategies. He always kept me on my toes and I still have a lot to learn from him.

As far as arch rivals/eneiems, I would have to list Zilart of FS and Ctenus of TTK. I'll be honest, I use to /sea all Zilart when I was bored in Jeuno just so I could examine him to drool over his equip. I always told myself that I would outshine Zilart in both skill and equip. I believe I have done both . Zilart has a few items I desire like M Body Abj and Cursed Schuhs -1. I heard rumors of Zilart's attiude through ex-FS and a few current and their testimonies shaped how I view Zil today. I hate how he kisses JP ass at king camps and his greed disappoints me. Ctenus is also a PLD I look down on. He is a loser that has an archive of funny pics to talk for him. He like a retarded child that still "reads" picture books because he lacks the ability comprehend certain situations. Ctenus is also a dreadful "damage dealing" PLD. He is the one that overloaded on STR and ACC gear for serious tanking. Hell it might work I've never tried it myself, but it defeated the purpose of the PLD job to me. You want to deal damage? Go level WAR or DRK or something. Just hated how he tried to turn PLD into another job. Thats just me tho.

So who are your archrivlas or people you strive to be better than?

Deadlegend and myself both share an unhealthy, borderline obssesive, spite towards gamblers and casinos. So, naturally, Twig comes to mind. On top of that he plays WHM which is a double-whammy because generally I hate every WHM on the server until I get to know them. Another rival would have been Drakkan (did he quit?) who out lotted me on WHM AF2 body, ever since then I've been keeping an eye on him as something like a rival, haha. They're a few exceptions, but Myskhal would only be the other person I looked up to as a white mage and player. The WHMs listed above, well escept for Twig, helped influence me to pursue things like working on club skill and WHM melee ability as well as considering the best overall mage equipment. And as far as enemies; I take anyone who doesn't understand community as an enemy. And this is left vague on purpose, haha

This is a good thread idea, I really hope it doesn't get lame'd up.

Everyone with a job higher than mine.

I used to kind of secretly battle and rush to level against Supafly and Dankaru since we all started around the same time, but they pulled way ahead...and now that I've restarted, and pretty much everyone I know has at least one job 65+, theres no real point in it.

Um lets see....As far as Bst goes I've always looked up to runefury and drakkan and especially Seiki <3 who answered every single question I had for him lol. (( We were duoing at 52 and I went to sleep, woke up the next day, and he was 60! I was so mad lol ))

As for summoner me and Darkrikku have always bitched at eachother and try to do everything we possibly can to be better than one another wether it be in gear, other jobs, lol ect. But we've been really good friends every since lvl 20 or so.

People think summoners are jealous and hate one another but thats really not true lol, I like most all summoners except for 1 or 2 wich I will not name lol.

I'd have to say that when i was an upcoming DRG it was about the same time as Led so I've always seen him as competition for PTs. But now that I'm 75 I don't care anymore cause i'm a Purple princess :D

As far as BLm goes, I'd have to say that I always looked up to Katariana goin back to the old Hokuten. Now i still admire her for what shes accomplished and glad to say that we're good friends. But as far as competition goes, I hated Deadlegend for a long ass time. But that's all past now and we're all more ..... less ignrent (Stole your word Aeges, it's now my favorite )

i dont have any real "rivals" per say. basically anyone whos the same job as me in my lv range pre 75 becomes my xp whore rival. if im 64 and i see the same brd keeping up with me i push harder to beat them to 75 lol.

as far as lookin up to ppl i never really did that. i basically look at someone i see as really good at their job then try and be better than then haha.

WHM: noone, i am the best hoho

RNG: Jongkrut, always used her as a marker to compare dmg output

NIN: Ilmaterrori, hes not an idiot and doesnt always go with the "PLD hype" i think he said it best "Vit tanking is for noobs" =p

BRD: not a very hard job, but i definately ask Eternus my questions lol

hrmmm, well, I didn't have too many rivals as whm, mostly folks i looked up to but never was all that jealous of, i was racing tiothiel to get to 75 and she whooped my ass (only cuz i took a 3 week break at 68 tho), I think there may have been some competition with tato when i was in ttk too, just again to see who could get to 75 first. other than that, my whm skills are unmatched.

smn on the otherhand.. well, there's maybe about 10-12 smns 70+ that i respect, the rest can go burn in hell and die for all i care, i'm not feeling their no skill having, endgame gear grubbing, yinyang robe camping, wannabe 1337 DD, "next cool job" leeching asses. and like madi i refuse to name names, but they probably know who they are and should quit the job asap imo.

I can't think of anyone who I would consider as my nemesis. But I admit, there are a ton of WHM on this server who I think suck ass.

For BLM my rival would have to be vol or hcc... I remember when we used to do ENMs and manaburn and stuff and try to out damage eachother. I always lost. When i finally did win vol forgot to bring his rairin so it wasnt fair, oh well haha.

Oh and for mnk i would definatly like to put Kayne as my idol. When i first heard people talk about mnk, the person that would come up was Kayne. He was THE mnk and i hope i could be like him. Also, another mnk rival would have to be Kazekuro because hes a taru like me. We exp'd at almost the same times and we always talk about BCNMs and other things that have to do with mnk.

hehe {true strike}, actually you weren't in tc long enough/did enough stuff with us, for me to really get a feel for how you played and your skill lvl, but you have my respect. And I will say this much about myself, there was many a times when i was the only whm that would go to do stuff with tc (sky, hktk, hnms, etc) and no one in my pts ever died and rarely did anyone in the entire alli die unless something went horribly wrong like some punkass mpk mofos trained shit on us, and i barely if ever ran out of mp (granted Tio used to spoil me with a brd and rdm [omgwtf 8mp a tick!]) but being a taru and having like 300-400 extra mp from hp to mp equips sure does go a long way.

yes. I too am Unrivaled, unparraledd, and so on and so forth. Although I didn't like Kaylah or whatever the Mithra bard was called who was higher level than me. Simply because she was higher level than me ( seemingly came out of nowhere). I also didn't liek Alcrest or whatever that Galkan Brd/mnk was called. JFC way to totally pick the worst SJ ever.

well.. the only people i ever really got in arguments with were pirotess, peejo, and kailyn.

as for people i looked up to, on whm it would have to be yarr and ruby, because they're the only whm's i ever learned from or got advice from.

on bard, i dunno, i kinda learned it all for myself. maybe vurin.

in terms of the entire gameplay, some players taught me new stuff like ilma, hcc, kayne, rein, ket, koda, etc.

God damn ilmaterrori for knowing the game inside out I want to stab him, he was also the only BLM on the server that I feared. Being black mage isn't just about dmg, what really count is your reaction and your ability to control hate and not die and so on. With that said, ilma is just incredibly tough. Good thing he quit blm. Ilma was a damn good blm. Not to mention his war and ninja skill. Guy can probably tank anything on his war.

Kayne was actually "THE" monk that influenced me to lvl mnk for my taru, even though now I give him the nick name Kayne the "Suicidal mpk everyone" monk. But now I guess every NA mnk out there is my rival, being a taru mnk its just a given I won't be as good as a galka or elvaan mnk.

Hcc and ilma were the 2 blms i always looked up to most, rein and loranne were the 2 drks i generally looked up to as well. But loranne has also been a rival of mine for a long time, always competing to match/outdo in gear ;p

wonder how would my PLD look like right now if i didnt stop playing it and lvl other jobs... i still remember Ct and Zil when they are still a lowbs.. but anyways... i really dont have any rival or enemy in this game... i just strive and do the best of my ability what ever i do i give it all.

My WHM Rival was Hobo. When I was leveling he was the only one at the same level as me. I use to hate and love him. I hated taht he always got PTs over me (stupid taru) but Hobo is an awesome guy and I think hes a fantastic whm.

I always looked up (well down really) to whisp. While I look at whisp as an equil more than someone whos skills are so far surpased to mine, I always felt whisp was someone I could go to for advice and he would come to me for the same. I think we kind of learnt WHM together.

Whisp is my Best Friend For Life!


As of right now I hardly think anyone on this server is a rival to me. as Judai would say. Im God.

Ive never really had "rivals/nemesis" or anything. I guess every Blm or Mnk I party with I try to be better then tho.

I guess I always kinda looked at Hcc and Tiothiel for the gear I wanted. Mekong and Kirakun have been other ppl I tried to model after I guess. Reall, I think I just do my own thing tho. These ppl slightly influenced my decisions on gear or jobs or w/e I guess tho. I always wanted to be like Kirakun and then Tiothiel and lead the Blm ally in Dynamis tho and now I do. Well, flame if want. I'll give a quick apology to CKDy. Didn't want to "screw" you but I guess that's how it seems. Enjoy the game!(^^)b
