Just thought I'd give out a warning.

Today, much to my dismay, I found out that a group of Chinese gilsellers has discovered the potential of Quadav Helms along with the elusive Dodge Earring in Beadeaux, much to the dismay of anyone else farming that zone. I'm going to withhold names of the characters for the sake of being fair, but if you're in Beadeux you'll see these guys for sure:

- they clump up in the area right near the ooze spawn points -- possibly to make it more difficult for competition to 'voke. When the ooze in the area has been killed, they spread out and kill every old quadav in the beginning area of the zone to get helm drops.

- they have THF or WAR main jobs and very bizarre (and underleveled) subjobs (usually /BLM)...their gear is from L12-30, one was even wearing leather armor. The group I've spotted on numerous occasions was two mithra and a Galka.

- they toss blind invites randomly to people in the zone, and if you accept (only did this once, out of sheer curiosity) they lot on all your drops and don't kill anything. When you ask them why they even bothered to invite you, or anything for that matter, the response is always "{I don't speak any English}Im chinese". Attempts to speak with them in Japanese (I'm a minor in the language, and some people in China do study Japanese) have met with the same sort of resistance.

- their movement pattern is very irregular and it looks very much like the characters are either partially botted or all controlled by the same person. There are five such characters camping the zone on any given hour, and of those 3-4 have been seen working together on more than one occasion.

Perhaps there is another explanation for this obscure behavior, but I haven't seen anything like it in all the time I've been on XI. I know I shouldn't be pointing fingers and yelling "conspiracy"... or maybe I shouldn't even care, since they (or their employer) is paying the same monthly fee as I do... but something just doesn't sit right with me about this. And I know I can't prove anything, but I thought I'd give out a warning anyway, to those that frequent the zone for farming purposes...it's going to get a lot harder in the near future, methinks....

If you do /sea all hom, you're going to see futur potential gilsellers. Homeone, Hometwo, Homethree up to Homesix. They are all Rank 1 Sandorians, and have pretty strange/underleveled subs (WHM/MNK and THF/BST for exemple). Last time i saw them they were leveling in Garlaige.

So watch out Ifrit, they may invade your farming spot one day!

lvl 20-30 will never be able to compete with the farming what a high lvl can do. So level up people and you don't have to deal with them!

Hey Shiroikaze, that's exactly what i've been noticing lately. Have you ever seen me farming in Beaudex? They swarm oozes like it's no tommorow, and then rob me of all the Old's in the area.

And one day, one of them, mithra i think, asked me to party. I tried to ask, "why, i'm waiting for invite in Crawlers Nest". And she kept saying, "gil", that's all. So i said "no thanks, not interested" with the translator, and i thought she understood. 5 min later, another invite. I thought she was just ????ing with me or something cause she kept killing my Olds, then following me. And on top of that, a whole group was killing every Qudav i saw. So i don't know what's up with this sudden "weirdness" in the farming there, but i really hate alot of competition, especially when it's overwhelming.

Sorry for the rant, looks like i gotta find somewhere else to farm now.....

This isn't uncommon. I was reading threads in killingifrit about similar things... The Kicker? They were moderately leveled up.

There was a party of DRG/WHMs in Deklfutt's tower farming pots and giants in the upper levels. Apparently this is rampant on a lot of the servers, and they always seem to be DRG/WHMs.

Drg's are good for farming. Drg/Whm could be one of the best combo's for farming

And there's always going to be competiton for farming and NM's and such. No matter that they're gil sellers.

Yeah I have seen you around. I don't mind friendly competition with other farmers, and will usually toss heals/protects at them even as they're camping the same mobs as me (I prefer to farm old quads myself - don't have the patience to camp ooze spawns, but I'll kill anything in the zone), but these guys tick me off. The blind inviting is getting obnoxious, as is the slaying of EVERYTHING in the zone. It seems like when they notice I'm not cooperating by farming "their" mobs, they retaliate by killing every single low-level quad in the area.

This particular group of gilsellers is low enough in level to get aggroed by the quads on the second level (Zircon, Garnet, Silver, Bronze) - tested this once... if anyone's feeling daring and wants to run them out of the zone. If they can't speak English OR Japanese it'll be difficult for them to call a GM on anyone who decides to train them out :D

Then again, I'm usually against MPK, so I dunno. Probably the wrong thing to do. Probably.

Amen Shiroikaze. They slay EVERYTHING in the zone which makes me mad to. And the one i told you that kept inviting me was even bold enough to spam tells to me saying "gil" over and over. So this is getting me agitated. There are a couple of Old on the other side Shiroikaze, but of course that would mean you have to get Silenced, or cursed to get over there, which is stupid.

But this is getting out of hand.
(I really wish you could fight other characters outside of Ballista..... alot of them would taste my Great Sword).

Yep.

It does seem odd though, that gilsellers would start to camp such a common farming area. I've been farming there for about a month now, and someone is ALWAYS killing old quads and camping the ooze spawns. Gilsellers usually go places where people normally don't farm (i.e. Upper Delkfutt's Tower, Castle Ostroja)... The fact they're out here in the open like this (and interacting/interfering with normal players more often) is yet more proof that SE doesn't care about their existence (after all, they are paying the monthly fee, even if they ARE violating TOS).

I really am curious though, if I'd get a GM call for sending a bunch of Silver Quadavs down their throats...because after all the hassle over the last few days from the SAME 4-5 "players" in their 40's with underleveled, bad subs and level 12-30 gear...I'm really wondering what else to do. Lildog, if you'd like to team up one day and try to dry up the zone to make it unprofitable for them to be there (or other countermeasures), just shoot me a /tell ingame. I can go farm somewhere else, and I probably will, but that's not the point...It's people like these folks that ruin the game for the rest of us. And I'm all for making it harder for them to do that.

I agree whole heartidly Shiroikaze. I'd nothing more but to make them feel like they've made me feel, robbed. I'll probably be lvling my Drg today, but definately tommorow i'd be interested. Show those "gil stealers" who's boss. lol.

And i'll probably farm somewhere else to now, cause that's just to much hassle. Hope i can find a good place at my lvl, not many though..

Send me a /tell in game today, or tommorow telling me when you want to do it.

Why not call a GM so they look into that ? I doubt they would be able to do anything, but it's worth a try.

If we can keep them at a level where they get aggro from the quads, we can get rid of them whenever we like.... :D
