Anyone else finding it impossible to get the expansion? My Gamestop just informed me that they will not get my reserved copy until TOMORROW.

My friend pre-ordered hers from EB games.com, and now they are giving her the run-around. I have a feeling that EB games is ran by a bunch of fucktards.

Gamestop called me this morning to tell me mine is ready for pick up. ^^

In so cal they dont even know when they expect the shipments to arrive, ive been told "sometime between Noon and next week." Great customer service EBGames... maybe if they raised their starting wage they wouldn't have to hire complete idiots.

I got my exp lol im installing it now. they told me at ebgames they had 8 ppl preorder it and they only got 6 copies in. seems to me like they didnt plan it very well.

Better get a DVD-Rom drive, cause I just got my ToAU installed; after you install and register the content ID get ready to see your computer check through about 14,095 content files. . . Joy! (not sure if this is the files on my computer, or actually downloading these files after checking!)

If there's more to this I'll go ahead and post something about it here. . . Anyways, looks like it's time to go find something else to do while waiting for this thing to update.

EDIT: It's only about 257 files being downloaded. About 15 minutes on a cable modem.

Yeah, ToAU is DVD-Rom only, which is weird. I got mine from EBgames, and they do suck, but they had it in on the 19th so it was alright.

But anyway, got mine installed, almost done.

I preordered mine for ps2 at EB..i went to pick it up today and they had me down for pc version and were sold out of ps2..so they refunded my money and found a gamestop to hold their last copy for me. I went to Gamestop to pick it up and they had sold it -.-

EB fucked up my preorder. Gave me one PC and one PS2. What fucktards. They can eat a dick.

i managed to find a copy at an EB Games across town, just gonna have to get my $5 back from Gamestop. I was more pissed that the guy at GameStop was so rude to me. I got a call on tuesday saying it would be ready by wednesday afternoon. I call and 2pm on wednesday. Sample conversation from memory.

Guy at store: Welcome to Gamestop where you can bla bla
Me: Hi i was wondering if you got the new FFXI expansion in today, i had it on reserve.
Guy: We're not getting it til tomorrow. You can blame UPS not us. I wouldn't call back til tomorrow. OK?

I really hate the mall. Customer service has gone to hell in the last 5 years.

i heard the initial suplies was limited so if you didn't pre order it will be tough to get a copy

seems to be very true, stores barely got anything more than what was preordered...which is fucking stupid.

2 EB games near me - had around 4 copies and sold them before i got out of class yesterday. 1 store got 2 more copies today..same thing happened.

2 walmarts near me - haven't even heard of the game

best buy - has PS2 version, PC version hasn't come in yet...

so yea, i still dont have it -_-

I called around yesterday and everyone said they were out or didn't have it yet. I went to the mall with a friend for something he had to do and I decided to stop by EB. I asked the guys if they had any extras and they gave me a real hard time. They were like "Well everyone that WANTED the game got it! Better preorder next time." I was pretty pissed, I used to work at Gamestop, I know how shit works, I don't need some asshole being rude to me for no reason. So I called him a dick and told him that he probably wouldn't wanna piss customers off. and he was the manager too.

But anyways I stopped by another gamestop today after class since it's right near a mall and they had 2 extra copies. They were much nicer to me too. So yeah I guess i got lucky. I have it before a lot of people that even preordered it Installing now! w00t w00t.

in no less than a month, the shelves will be over stocked with it, its not like that many people still play ffxi. ha

artifical shortage...
