I just feel like listing what I see as strengths and weaknesses of FFXI from the viewpoint of someone who has never played any MMORPGs before. Strengths: Wide selection of jobs 6-person party A large amount of quests A decent amount of enemy models An enormous world Good graphics Highly challenging battles Mastering the game isn't easy Lots of nice people Exp'ing is really fun (not many people seem to think so) Weaknesses: You usually fight 1 monster at a time You are obligated to party up if you want to advance in level, except bst You are obligated to play for 6+ hours a day Not enough towns Japanese manipulate the economy Japanese have quicker ping People are loyal to their cliques (linkshells) There is no real end to this game Lots of mean people Japanese people are particularly elitist Servers should be separated by language You can't see every job level a person has, just their current job When LFG you should be able to see all groups' job/level-makeup so you can tell if they need you (and if you want to even join them) Post-ding75, the game is basically just loot hunting, which is booooring On quests that require partying up or allying, you should be able to tell who else in the game needs to do that quest, too Jobs aren't really balanced in terms of usefulness Melee jobs dont get many cool new abilites after about lvl 30 And... wtf a ninja shouldn't be able to solo serket or charybdis. they need to change that asap |

i think they need to fix some jobs up fast. Samurai and Dragoon for sure. |

The dragoon is only lacking 1 or 2 ja to be more fun to play. They are the hardest hitter in the game (excluding WS). |

thunderstomp used to be able to solo Even Match monsters at level 49-62. he literally could, no exaggeration. i could also powerlevel him on VTs for 150-200 per kill. |

Whisp, was that pre or post TP nerf? Because pre-nerf, DRG were quit the force at those levels. |

THF/NIN Job Abilities: Steal Perfect Dodge Sneak Attack Trick Attack Flee Mug Hide Not as many JA as PLD/WAR. Job Traits: Dual Wield Dual Wield II Resist Bind Triple Attack Resist Weight Treasure Hunter Treasure Hunter II And with /RNG JA: All Listed + Sharpshot Barrage Scavenge JT: Acc+ Resist Poison Fast Shot. Triple Attack Resist Weight Treasure Hunter Treasure Hunter II /WAR JA:All listed from THF/NIN + Provoke Berzerk Defender JT: Triple Attack Resist Weight Treasure Hunter Treasure Hunter II Defence Boost Resist Poison? Double Attack. I think THF/WAR has the most. |

bard may have a low number of job abilities and traits, but at least bard has new songs to look forward to every few levels. dragoon, for example, has nothing special to look forward to after super jump, right? TS could solo EMs before the TP nerf. he quit about 1 or 2 days after the TP nerf. |

But BRD only use like 5 or 6 songs for partying till lvl 75 don't they? ballad, acc+ and att+, finale |

TS could solo EMs before the TP nerf. he quit about 1 or 2 days after the TP nerf. Seems that s-e really did a bad job in creating an identity for drg. I always thought that it was suppose to be played like a barrage type melee, weaker attacks, faster intervals. I had this assumption for both mnk and drg. However, drg did lack something. Mostly, because developers thought that the class should solely depend on the sub it equips to determine what drg should be able to accomplish so they never did give drg traits after 30. However the support stuff s-e gave drg was to weak to compete with the increasingly strong melee classes. After the tp nerf, mnk didn't take a step back, mainly because of the rich resources and equipment it had. However, drg lacked in many areas leading to a drg purge after the nerf. For instance, drg has the lowest def and dex(acc) in game. However, S-E seems to be keen on giving drg vit stuff for some unknown reason. |

I think when CoP comes out, they should add 2 ENG+Euro ONLY servers and 2 JPN ONLY servers. NA have enough high lvls at this point to support an economy of new euro and mid-lvl NA. |

I am a good pld but I still let my drg dies. It's so much fun to kill the drg when I accidently forgot to change sj so pld/blm for whm af3 fight hahaha. ![]() |

lol i agree with itto.my main problem is we have a spear and spear should peirce tho a shell right wrong lol a sword for some reason can hack tho the shell better than my lance/spear with its point cant PEIRCE a shell well that make sense and whats up with some of our ws.................... Also whats up with our choice of equipment hmmmmmmm yeah i dont know if its just me but i went from 14-55 with the battle gloves-Acc+3 Eva+3 as for the plus vit i got no idea why we got that. |

ne one else think it's weird that nin can wear heavier armor than drg? drgs got royally screwed and i'm dissapointed SE hasn't spent more time balancing the jobs out. Also i agree that there needs to be more ENG/EU servers, some of the JP latency issues and elitest stuff ect. have really been bothering me as of late. |
