For myself the one item I really wanted was AF2 Vest and I was lucky enough to get it.

I've only once ever had more than 1,000,000 gil. And it very quickly disappeared on Adaman Armor.

I don't think I could give you the name of any item I wanted that you couldn't say back how I could "easily" obtain it, lol. Heck, I could give you a list of every damn thing in the game I can think of (right on the spot) that I want for my PLD... (That doesn't involve just getting off my ass and farming for days.)

Sure... People say that all WHMs want it. But I want it to the extent that I work full-time and still am coming home to exp 15k+ a day, so that I can meet certain lot requirements. I also am quitting work a week early, so that I better make reaching 75 in the near future a reality.

I still think the lot rules on Shining Cloth are suspect, but at least it gave me the drive to exp 15k a night. (I just don't remember what the Sun looks like :P)

Ridere, I did exactly what you are doing right now when I was hardcoring in EQ. I work full time (9hr/day minimal, I am an IT consultant), I play 7-10 hours per night and I had the best gear I can get when I quitted. My normal sleep hours are between 3-5 hours/day. Do I really think that was worth it? Yes, it sure was when I was playing it. Because I was the uber druid in the top guild on my server. Everyone drooling over my gear and shit. But you know what? After leaving the game it all means nothing lol. When I moved to FFXI, I made the decision I will just enjoy the game and get whatever I can but not stress over it. Of course there are items I want but I also realize at the end it means nothing but a piece of data sitting in SE's DB warehouse. The friendship is much more important and valuable than having uber_item_xyz.

The most uber equipment in the game? Not by a long shot. Not even that useful for situations where I'd be doing my standard job functions - Duelist or Crimson gear would be much more useful. It is, however, a truly cool, unique item made just for my class, and the best sword short of Excalibur I can use. Everyone has a bit of a desire to show off :P

Edit: Latent effect is activated by casted an enspell on it.. so no its not a worthless piece of junk.

Peejo, I really wanted to hit 75 much sooner than I am going to. I was planning on having it done mid summer, but I didn't realize just how long it'd take (Not to mention a few hiccups in my perm party). The main reason why I want to hit 75 in the next week and a half, though, is so that I don't have to worry about exp during my senior year of college. I want to be able to fish and do LS events without that big "You should be level 75" weight on my shoulders. I'll joke around about the Shining Cloth, but it's sort of just one more reason of many as to why I want to hit 75 soon; it is not the only reason.

Exping right now is actually kinda fun, since we're so close to the end. Angiepoo and I are both aiming for 74-75 by next week, and there are a few others with the same feeling, so we're doing these 15k exp/night runs without much trouble. The only day that was bad was Monday, as everyone was off pretending they were gonna kill HNMs, and there wasn't a PLD or Melee Damage Dealer to be found.

Other than that I would like to have a minstrel's coat (Soulstealer in onzozo), my bard AF2, kraken club (doesn't everyone), jester's cap +1, corsette +1, enhancing shield, kard, monster signa, light and earth staffs, and erase for my whm (damn time to do BCNM 40 again). I am poor due to the fact that I spend gil as soon as I get it on spells and instruments and often lend it to people for ammo (rangers) and such. Looks like I need to put my Mary's Horn to use and start BCNMing at 60 and 40 again for gil.

I agree with Peejo on this one i play as a dragoon that in it self means i dont care about getting to lvl 75 real quick since this job seems to take a bit longer to lvl than others that you can play but if i could pick one item it would have to be the Upgraded Relic spear of the af2 chest cause i want to see what it would be like to use abilities on my wyvern.

um.. i think the stuff i want is pretty much the same as others. Vermillion or Nobles tunic, Healing Staff, Serket/VV rings, Amity cape (sp?), and a Steppe stone. will i ever get any of these, chances are very slim. im close to getting the gil for the Steppe stone, but everything else i dont really ever see happening. the Staff would be easiest to get, but anyone i know who would camp Roc with me would NEVER let me actually have it.

Honestly though, id rather just have a lots of friends.
