As many of you already know, FF12 Potion drinks were released today.
I had to work all day so couldn't buy until this evening. I called up my buddy Hiro and we went out on an IRL mission for potion. At first we went out on foot to a convenie near my home (Sunkus) and they were all sold out, we were kinda shocked. So we headed out to a nearby grocery store, they were also sold out there. Other stores to check were to far so we were forced to return to my mog house and jump in my airship...er, car.
Anyways, 3 other convenies later we were able to find it in stock (but barely). The bottles are tiny, only bout 120ml of liquid. However there are premium bottles for 3 times the price...200yen and 630yen respectively. We never saw any of the premium bottles.
The potion itself is definitely an acquired taste. Anyone familiar with the 'genki' drink phenomenon in Japan will have some idea of how it tastes. It's quite bitter and I wouldn't want to drink anymore than 120ml of it in one sitting.
Here are some of the ingredients, well, the ones I can actually read off the label:royal jelly, (puroborisuekisu), elder, chamomille, sage, thyme, (hisoppu), fenel, marjoram, (mannenrou), (mebouki), melisa?, caffeine, Na, tons of different vit Bs and blue color #1. There were some crazy kanji i can't read too. Bracketed words are straight katakana translations that I'm not sure what they are in English.
All in all, FF12 Potion is more like poison potion and I'd rather stay low on HP than have to drink too much of it.
