Got a question.

One thing i loved about my gibson was the sound. I decided to toss some new strings on that bad boy because the old ones for the most part were black. I tossed some DR LT-9s on it. The strings sound great but i have an insane ammount of fret buzz. Frets 1-3 are ok. anything past that i get alot of buzz. I tried adjusting the truss rod and also rasing the bridge on the E A D strings. Still no luck.

GAUGES are
LT's are E42 A32 D24

sould i step up to a E52 A44 D30
or maybe a E50 A38 D28

I play mostly on EAD and those are the strings with the buzz, A being the worst.

I don't see how thicker strings would help you all that much (I used 10s on my Les Paul). It is fret buzz noise right? It is rare but your frets could be fucked up or your action is too low (you said you adjusted this right?). I have had fret buzz at the 5th fret before and just restringing worked, I had wound the strings on the gears in a funky way that somehow was contributing to the buzz. I haven't had a problem like that in a long time, usually I just fuck with the tuning and the buzz goes away. You said you were using just standard E tuning too. I am always changing my tuning between 2.5 steps down, 2 steps, .5 step (Eb Slayer tuning omg), etc... You can get buzz just from being a small amount off while tuning.

Fret buzz is usually the action or the actual fret being fucked up (get it shaved omg). I haven't fucked with my guitar like that in a while, just had to fix my pickups a couple weeks ago on my Ibanez RG.
