Well it seems that Universal has decided to kill the Castlevania legacy by paying 50 million for the script Paul Anderson has written based on the game.

Wait what? Whos Paul Anderson? Yarr why do you hate him so much?

Well most regular members should already know how much I hate Paul Anderson, but for those of you who dont have a Jimbean like memory ill explain.
Paul W.S Anderson is the guy who Hollywood Execs go to in order to Hollywoodize a movie. He's the guy who trashed George A. Romero's Resident Evil script in order to have his Matrix-like Resident Evil script used. He also did the Mortal Kombat movies(not too bad), DoA and some others. Hes even doing a "Driver" script.

Anyway, hes famous for making movies based on his 5 minute impressions of a game. The reason most Video Game fans hate him is because he totally changes the cannon of the game world. Oh and hes also famous for using flavor of the month plot devices and special effects. Basically he takes whatever movie style is currently popular and clones it using the video game theme.

Oh, so hes going to copy the whole comic book style movie thats so popular right now, oooo ok.

Now, if we could all have a moment of peace to remember the respect that the Castlevania franchise once had...

Im a huge fan of the Alien movies. So much that I not only own the alien quadriligy, but I have watched every minute of it. Directors cuts, originals and all the behind the scenes stuff (I have nightmares about the Aliens hunting me, it sounds funny I know, but its a vivid nightmare, and so I have this obsession with the movies). All like 200 hours of it.

Anyway I remember that when Alien: Resurrection was in the planning stages Sigourney Weaver turned down the roll of Ripley. So basically this stopped the movies planning stages in its tracks. So they changed pace and started doing the Aliens Vs Preditor movie. Sigourney Weaver caught wind and decided to sneak a copy of the script to see what it was like.

Well, she HATED it. She hated the idea of this horrible campy, lame cheezy hollywood beat em up featuring a movie that helped launch her carrier. She hated it so much that she went back to the studios and agreed to do a fourth Aliens movie(assuming the script was well done.)

She agreed to do it in order to prevent them from making the Aliens Vs Preditor movie. She felt it disgraced the legacy of the Alien franchise. I remember watching her tell this story on the "Extra" disk for Aliens Resurrection in the Quadriligy.

So whos script did she hate so much? Paul Anderson's wonderful little falvor of the month script. They ended up just making the movie later on down the road.

So how is it that this blockbuster losing, financial waste of unoriginal movie from original adaptation producing trash able to get millions from Hollywood only to blow it on shit people hate?

Seriously if he does poor adaptations, makes like no profit from the films he does, then how/why is he still in business?

Since I looked this up recently, if you read anything interesting about movie budgets read this!!!!!

The resident evils aren't soo so bad. But can use a little help honestly. I actually didn't like alot of his movies either.

This has alot more to do with money than actually making a good movie. One thing this paul anderson is good at is keeping a budget. The first resident evil didn't have a very big budget, and it went off to making money for the studio. And the second did even better money wise, even if it cost more to make.

Another movie that was simply horrific was Doom. Was that made by him? That movie was a mess. It was just horrible, they should have kept the elements of the game, that would have actually been better.
Problem with people like paul, is that they think these stories are too far fetched, when it fact thats sometimes the point of watching a movie. Its supposed to be fiction!
