I know Reinheld reads em all the time. I recently started back up about a month and a half ago (Im playing catch up, I think ive bought like 80 comics in that time), but I was wondering if anyone else is active in the nerdy comic scene?

I read them as a kid, and still drag out my old comics every once in a while (the whole Batman/Bane/Azrael saga is one of my favorites to re-read). Let's just say if comics were free, I'd still read them, but I got better places to spend my money heh.

I read PA and 8-bit theater and a few other webcomics fairly regularly. I haven't actively read actual comics in ages. I have a portion of my collection still, mostly the signed #1 issues and other crap like that. I sold a shitload of them a while ago and bought something with them, can't remember what I bought lol. I wouldn't spend money on comics these days, one of my friends sends me scans of comics from time to time on AIM.

i read online or webcomics as well, to be honest the only comics i ever collected was the poke'mon comics, tehre werent very many and they probobly arent worth much but i keep them in vac-sealed covers anyway.

EDIT: btw thats not inclusing manga, i have plenty of that. i dont consider the pokemon comics i have to be manga, even though it probably is.

i have cowboybebop, love hina, flcl, naruto and a few others.

Ramen and Japan aside, I was raised as a traditional american nerd, with american comic books.

As I was younger, I read The Amazing Spiderman, Superman, Spawn, The Punisher, and other things like that, now I focus more on manga and things of that nature, but I still like to nerd-out at Half Price Books whenever I see old comics.

Lately I've been finding old Teen Titans comic books so that I can OFFICIALLY hate the fucking cartoon. I read a few back when I was a kid, but not enough to object to anything in the toon. Now that I've read through it, I'm wondering how horribly they are going to strangle the "Main Plot" of the toon, because alot of it is VERY graphic (Slade being shot in the face by his wife, Raven and her Fathers entire backstory, and the death of a few titans- not gonna spoil anything)

It will probably skip past all that and have the usual no-storyline episodes where they fight aliens and stupid villains, while only occasionally making references to the comics when the handful of Slade episodes and Raven's Past episodes.

But either way, if you've seen the toons of any of the great heroes of comic book lore...do yourself a favor, track down the comic books and read them. You'll be happy you did. Same applies to classics like Superman, Batman, etc.

Ive been very happy with Civil War so far. Some people are acting a little strange, but over all I am happy with it. Its fun to see Hero vs Hero.

So far the Avengers, Wolverine and Spider-man have been the best comic tie ins. Frontlines is really good (some like it better than the Civil War main title) but I cant find Frontlines 4 anywhere so I have to wait reading 5, 6, 7 until my comic store gets a reprint lol.

outside of that I just started reading the Ultimate line up. Ive only read the first two volumes of Ultimate Spider-man (very good) but I have read up to issue 58 in Ultimate X-men. I really like what they did with X-men. They actually managed to get me to not hate X-men lol. I liked X-men but only through the X-factor when it was Jean, Iceman, Cyclops and I think beast (cant remember atm). I have the first volume of Ultimates, but im not really that into reading it (never liked the Avengers)

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recomend the Ultimate X-men CD. It has 65 comics on it and it only costs 10 bucks. They are easy to read PDF files. The value on this thing is through the god damn roof.

I never thought I would read them all, but I had to force my self to not read the entire CD every night shift.

I just want Civil War to end already. It's lasted way too long. The delays killed it for me.

Yeah its dragging out and I got into it a few months late. For me, its the fact that they are showing previews to comics AFTER civil war are what make it feel like it needs to end. I mean we almost have a clear picture of whats going to happen.
