Yes and as he falls a final tear comes out of his eye. He was so tortured by the fact that he had no wings he knew that this was the only way he could ever get an ounce of happiness. THAT IS A VERY BAD MOVIE

It almost made me cry...almost.
Theres a maori story about how the kiwi sacrificed its ability to fly because none of the other birds would. And the ground needed a guardian... I don't remember exactly how it went its been like 15 years since I heard it.
