Things like this machine already exist lol just in a smaller scale. There is on in Batavia, Illinois at the Fermi Lab. Its about a mile long and all they do is send two atoms in opposite directions and then collide them.

I think people are over reacting big time over this.

Also, don't they refrence this in Angels and Demons in the beginning of the book? I don't remember exactly but I thought they talked about a machine like this in it.

If it makes you guys feel better, we would be dead before we even knew what happened.

And if you really want to worry about stuff like this... All it would take is for a giant star to go super nova near us and this planet would be wiped out of all life. The gamma waves from the supernova would instanly kill all life on our planet.

Theres actually a pretty good theory that one of the mass exstinctions was caused by Gamma rays.

Oh and im not talking about the kind of Gamma Rays that turn Bruce Banner into the Hulk.

Kind of, in the book in CERN facility's basement there is a large particale accelerator in the shape of a donut.
