Sweet, games that are heavy on the gameplay and battles and weak on story mean i can hammer my way through text.

I hate it when I have to sit and read what's going on.... that I only reserve for FF.

There's a couple long cut scenes and stuff, but if you ever miss what's said in an event, you can read a synopsis in the options menu. lol It's very nice when you put it down for a couple days and forget what the hell you're supposed to do now.

i just beat the Gemity battle tournament game for rank 1, single match rank S, and team match rank S. I'm about to beat the game too.

the rank 1 fight is so damn hard. the bitc.....err witch has some moves that really damage your MP pool. like hits that do 1k to mana pool, or an area one that does like 700 to MP pool. the fighter guy was pretty easy

btw, the thing about your other two characters always getting gang banged is only semi true.

play as Nel, and make sure you give your other 2 characters the book that enables you to learn "support skills" IE healing (they'll heal occassionally)

You can play a healer when needed for nel (and if you get your healing Mastery level higher, you should be able to eventually heal for large amounts with her, plus she has a massive MP pool, so you will have plenty of time to fight) , and fight when you can,.

and i can say nel is the my favorite person to play as. I just got her lvl 70 Magic spell (lightning strike), havent tested it yet though. (btw anyone remember mirror slice from star ocean 2nd story? she got that move at 50 lol, its pretty cool, though not exactly one of my favorite moves)

btw, crafting in this game becomes pretty damn useful, heh (mid-end game). try your best to hire the crafters. i still havent figured out how to get some of them, but i have most the good crafters and a ton of Fol to burn

omg i beat the game~ btw that Dimension door skill of fayt's is awesome

this doesnt really spoil anything, so...
after the ending it saves your game a "clear" record (added to your last save), and there are a couple extra dungeons or so more, im checking out the extras right now

I finally got my copy of this, and have been playing it steadily.

a few thigns
1) Side kick owns for fayt. great for starting cancel bonus chains and he tends to be temporaily invincible when he does it. Makes it really easy to cheap some bosses down fast. Especially with no guard. I got the defeat crosel in udner 1 min + no dmg trophy in one fight by spamming it.

2) for the rank 1 battle if you silence the witch ( you know, silence that spell you got with common support symbols and NEVER casted) it becomes infintely easier. the Knightr guy has about half as kuch hp and you don't need to worry about her casting explosion or something and wiping out your entire PT in one shot.

Honestly though the demonlord fight was a lot harder for me ... they cheat I swear. I would have just skipped them but I was making it a point to fight every single match to help me along in my fight X monster types Battle trophy

3) as for the game being lagging outside of that snowy field outside the first town I never once saw any slowdown or lag. Even when using lots of the big time symbology/battle skills.

4) critical hit isn't an activated skill, its like Fear, drain, get item, Increase HP dmg, Stun... they randomly activate when you attack with that button. Thus making them a bitch to level up.

As for myself I just beat the Maze of Tribulations so I'm gonna head to Sphere 211 and see if I can't get a better challenge out of that before I start over on the next difficultly. Still i got at least 70 hours out of it so far which is pretty good imo.

72 hours in the game, only on floor3 of the Maze.. Played too much with the invention system I guess :P

Albel with the Victory Trophy and a +2 Attack on his weapon is a monster when spamming the short-range X attack. Watch those hits roll in!

Hehe I tried Universe difficulty and I'm ashamed to say that those three spider robots you start out against totally kicked my arse, until I revised my strategy to includ elots more running away.
