Oh man..

This is sort of disappointing to me. I don't really like Fear Factory or Megadeth that much... haha

But I figure I'll go anyway and just sort of deal with it. If anything I'll get a good laugh from Megadeth, (haven't liked much since Countdown to Extinction.)

Let's all meet up somewhere and go ;p

I'm probably most excited about Megadeth, haha. i think Dave Mustaine is one of the most gifted and underrated talents in heavy metal, and I have always wanted to see him live. I've seen DT and FF before, so seeing Megadeth live will be a first time for me. man I'm excited about this. and ticket prices are only gonna be like $35!

I'm really not surprised to see Megadeth and DT touring together. You can hear some the influences especially on the later albums, "The Glass Prison" and "This Dying Soul" come to mind especially.

I'm sure it'll be a good show. I just remember the old days of Megadeth moreso than the more recent.

have you heard megadeth's new album The System Has Failed? i swear to you its awesome, if you are like me and think megadeth was on a slide lately, you may be surprised at this one. dave said he was tired of other band members influencing the songs lately, he brought in chris poland from like.. killing is my business or peace sells, and dude i swear its a badass album. Fear Factory's new album is pure fear factory at its best, but if you dont like them i guess you wouldnt like it.

i wasnt really blown away by megadeth's newest album. it has some good songs, but it's not something i would play through from start to finish. actually now that i think about it it's probably one of my least favorite megadeth albums. it's almost too religious at times, lol.

the last two songs mostly i guess:

Shadow Of Deth
(Psalm 23) by David
Auxilium meum a Domino

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
He leadeth me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me
In the paths of righteousness for his name's sake
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever

My Kingdom
Music & Lyrics - Mustaine
The flag that I once planted as a king I abandoned
And now I reclaim this banner by God my sword and my name
In a truce sealed by blood within this metal skin and all that I own
Blood, bone, and courage in my veins and the heart that pumps it

Drink from the chalice and be reborn
And the land with me, it will change and transform

A fighting man sworn to the quest it is the doom of man that they forget
I have awoken the dragon and all around me the mist of his breath
Good and evil, there never is one without the other, his brother
Always there where I least expect it, it will burn me to cinders

The futures taken root in the present sun
Don't look into my heart, least of all your own

No man who is false can win in combat against the truth
When he lies he murders some part of the world, we must find what was lost
Hearth and home, wife and child were not for me, I was not yet done
I never knew how empty my soul was until it was refilled

Mad distemper strikes both beggars and Kings
The Necromancer's hard teachings of war and quest

I am given the right to bear arms and power to meet justice

I have lived through others for far too long,
And carried my guilt, my causes, my sins
I hope in the hereafter when I owe no more to the future
That I can be just a man

Maybe I'll check it out.

From a guitar players standpoint I miss Marty Freidman. lol

As far as Fear Factory goes the only thing I've ever been able to appreciate about them is how articulate their drummer is using a doulbe bass drum pedal.

I'm REALLY liking "Caught in a web" now. It's not really too proggy feeling to me but it's seriously cool.

Nah they didnt play "Octavarium," I think they only played like one song from the new album. They could've picked better songs for their set, but it was still a very good show. When you get to see Fear Factory, Dream Theater, and Megadeth all in the same show who can complain lol. One of the top five concerts I've ever been to.

Portnoy rotates the set so people who see em alot don't get the same show twice.
