It is much cooler to wear corspepaint and carry a battleaxe on stage. You need people who breathe fire too, oh and don't forget the bloodpackets you can use to make you look like you are puking blood. Lastly you need aborted fetuses (real ones) to dangle from various points on stage.

Backstage you will need crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, opium, ketamine, weed, XTC, and black M&Ms. The other rainbow colored M&Ms are for faggots.

You could go the GWAR route and just empty a Port-o-let and dump your defecation all over your audience.

It's funny that Whisp and Thunderstomp (self-proclaimed "intelligent secular humanists. yes, that means smarter than you.") are using the same "at least I don't listen to pussy music, you pussy" argument that is applied so often in our country, mostly by backwards hicks. Everyone is secretly ridiculing their lack of sophistication but they truly think they are the bee's knees.

Metal music itself is similar. Whether lured in by the fact that it's so perceivably "counter-culture" or dangerous, "metalheads' have bought the aesthetic (the metal industry has never been "all about the music." Face it. It's about the dragons) to the point where they've become blind to the properties that have always been most pleasing in music in favor of some pre-pubescent dopamine scream feast. They're way too far gone to realize it, though.

I can't help but note that "Wes and Chris" is decidedly less heavy than the music you idolize. Is that because "Chris" is writing most of your music? Is it because you lack the talent to actually emulate those bands you listen to? Or is it because you don't have the proper instrumentation to really make some fucking noise--sorry, to "push the limits of composition and extend the tradition of intricate classical music"? You sound an awful lot like a mid-ninties, post-grunge alternative rock band a la Live.

We don't have any of our heavy stuff on the website because we currently don't have a drummer to record with.

Anyways, I'm able to defend heavy music and still be able to write/enjoy softer music too. Most of my favorite bands have a heavy and soft side. I like the variety. The music I write is a lot like a grunge/90's rock band, because that's what I grew up listening to. It was the last great decade for rock music, imo. I couldn't really tell you a band that I like that started in our current decade.

And Ponuh you obviously don't understand metal music, I can tell that much from your analysis. If you tell metal fans that it's "never been all about the music. It's about the dragons," they would just laugh at you. Or ignore you.

It's amazing what 36 marathon hours of watching 24, lifting weights, and eating almost nothing but home-made cookies can do to a young man.

I can't believe even caduceus got into a little bit of shit flinging on this thread, haha, but he is a cute chick, and I would still eat sushi off her bare chest and jizz in her hair.

I have a voice like an 8 foot tall rapist, and I will be back in a few days to check this increasingly gay thread again, because lord knows I love me some gays.

Wow a free upload thing. Here is a song I like that nobody else has to like, but if you do, more power to you.
Sonata Arctica- My Selene Power metal. It's hardly metal but I don't know what else this should be called.

first of all chris is my brother. he has a good taste in music, too. he likes mostly metal but also stuff like frank sinatra. while i can't get into anything that's just vocals and background music, i still think that's cool because sinatra had a real talent. i dont really care if you like crappy music, ponuh. if you like that crap, there's no way you like dream theater for the right reasons. you wanna talk about making music? i can tell you this beyond any doubt: any of the metal bands i've named could reproduce any of that watered-down emotional talentless pansyrock, anyday, and the pansyrock couldn't even come close to reproducing the metal ensemble.

ps. not sure when i self-proclaimed myself intelligent. thanks though. ;p

My friend Matt is a damn good drummer, too bad he always wants to do vocals and rhythm guitar lmao. Good thing he knows plenty of drummers around here, just most of them can't play the songs we wrote lol. Seriously I know like 5 drummers here, guess they are in short supply in the Atlanta area.

Man so close minded. I like everything from Rhapsody to Cryptopsy pretty much. High pitched screaming King Diamond vocals and Death Metal growls are both fine with me I guess. Well I can tolerate them to an extent. I just like alot of music, thats why my Ipod has so much shit on it I guess haha. The only thing that annoys me now is some of the more screamcore crap and I can even dig some of that stuff from time to time.

As a progressive fan have you ever listened to King Crimson? They have some metal tendecies, but they are definitely one of the most unique bands ever imo (they are fairly old). They are not the easiest band to listen to though lol.
