that was the only thing I could find on youtube since "death" has like a bazillion videos and none seem like music. I'm sure there's better work, I wasn't too impressed with that song.

Yeah the Philosopher is one of their more simple songs lol. They made a video and it was somewhat catchy for its day. It is funny the bands I like most of the time the songs they have as videos aren't my favorite songs by that artist. I post from work usually so I can't really post any specific songs atm. I liked early Death and overall just the progression they made from CD to CD overall. Sound of Perseverance wasn't bad either. My only complaint about Death is the vocals.

They aren't as fast and heavy as Deicide admittedly, but melodically from a guitar perspective they are more complex overall. Deicide has better vocals but not as good in the individual performances department. Death has some very fast songs, but they vary in tempo. Just a more versatile band. Deicide is a one trick pony, but it does that one trick well.
