I've got a bunch of Yes albums on my iPod (12 I think). Admitedly I haven't listened to them as much as I have other artists. I think the music is really good, but the singing feels very influenced by Disco to me, lol. Still I think it fits the high-concept prog sound, and you're definately right about the Rush/Yes influence in Dream Theater. I was turned on to DT by you guys on this forum and since I've gotten every studio album, live album, live dvd and all the side projects.
Have you heard Transatlantic? It's a prog super group with Mike Portnoy, Neil Morse of Spock's Beard, Pete Trawavas (bassist from Marillion), and Roine Stolt from The Flower Kings. There's a really definite and intense Yes influence in that. If you can, check out "Suite Charlotte Pike" off of their second CD "Bridge Across Forever". It's too bad Neil Morse found Jesus in the face of his sickly child and disbanded the group to focus on Christian prog (seriously).
