I agree. But Opeth, because of all the fakey distortion is much more "Blahh, you have acne and long greesy hair you'll like this stuff raaaaaaaaaaawr". Dream Theater isn't mellow, but it definately isn't so incredibly intense (it doesn't go for cheap idiotic tricks either).

I was merely saying that Metropolis is a good example of prog metal, not "Ghost of Perdition" (IMO, though it's always right anyways. I wish everyone would learn that )

I definately agree that Dream Theater is superior because it's incredibly "real" for a genre that caters to audiophiles and the like. They can reproduce everything live perfectly (provided LaBrie doesn't fuck it up lol)

I hate LaBrie and want to stab him in the throat sometimes due to his cheesy ass vocal timbre and hair metal tendecies that do not match DT's musical style. They are musically different in style... need a more versatile vocalist. LaBrie is awesome techically as far as his clarity, enunciation, range etc.. just I can't stand his style and timbre.

It doesn't at all and is totally invalid. MTV ruined music plain and simple. Good looking people with absolutely no musical talent make money due to the fact they are good looking. Takes an comparatively goofy looking person to make awe inspiring music to be even noticed. Music is an artform based on sound.... nothing to do with sight. But damn if thats them, that is a baaad pic... don't remember them looking like that.. and wheres the other guitarists lmao. I call BS.. since their early shit was My Arms Your Hearse.. and they didn't look like that back then... it was the 90s not the 80s. Zero hair metal tendecies as well.

I used to hate LaBrie too. Now I really like him. He's bad live sometimes, but that was because it took him forever to recover from vocal surgery that happened right before the Awake tour in 94.Just this year he's not saying he's doing better.
