I had dinner with my buddy last weekend when I was back in Phoenix. He had his immediate family (Sister, mom, dad) and then his Aunt and Uncle from the south.

I didn't hear his uncle say this, but I guess throughout the night he had been drinking whiskey (When I got to their house he was still drinking, but he didn't seem drunk or anything), and they were all talking about politics and he referred to Clinton as "Crazy Lady" and Obama as "Chocolate Boy."

After having dinner with his aunt and uncle, they were obviously very overt and sometimes abrasive, but overall I thought they were good people. Even if they had biased opinions of certain races, they would never act that way to any ACTUALLY person maybe of that race, and they were plenty ready to accept their own criticism.

Anyways, he called Obama "Chocolate Boy", and any way you cut it that's pretty racist and unacceptable. I was pretty shocked to hear someone had actually said that, especially someone in the family of a friend of mine.

my grandmother "warned" me the other day about obama being a muslim and not pledging allegance to the flag or something like that. . .

And I was just shocked that people actually believe that stupid stuff. And shes a very educated woman too.

The "sworn in by the Quran" thing is the most rediculous. Even if it happened I wouldn't give a shit, but it's untrue and has a negative impact on his campaign because ignorant Americans would rather believe what they hear than do any research. He's been a Christian for over 20 years.

americans are stupid, close-minded folk who for the majority cant make any good informed (or uniformed) conclusions about presidentials elections. The candidates with the most money over the last 4-6 elections cycles have either won there parties nomination or came damn close regardles of ideas or principles. Presidential elections have become more of an ad campaign than a drive to who is best qualified at the present time to lead our nation. Its proven, more $$ = more votes. Whats fucked up is how we have almost accepted the fact that our president has to have been in the senate, congress, or a gov'na to get the best considerations to be nominee. I can tell you this there are thousands of more qualified, able, and willing to run our country than those in the political system now, but long are the days when an average Joe can be heard and lead our people. IF YOU WANT TO FIX AMERICA, VOTE FOR TERM LIMITS ANY CHANCE YOU GET. no person should hold any political office longer than a president can, theres a reason for his, and should be for eveyone else.

Any new kind of term limits than the ones currently active are kind of a double edged sword. They have the potential to lead a few individuals to attempt to cash in as much and as quickly as they can because they know they'll never have as much power again in political office. This could cause more harm than the corruption government already has. Also certain positions (such as chief economic advisors) I believe would be hard position to keep rotating around.

I do agree that many political positions can be bought and sold though.

Ron Paul is a quack. Even if he does have some legitimate ideas, he's always angry and it sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder. I certainly wouldn't trust him with anything.

and back to term limits, people should not be in any elected office over 8 years, look at our senate and congress. 50% has been there over 20 years and we wonder why shit doesnt get done.

What state are you in? I'm in washington and we don't even vote/caucus until almost two weeks after super tuesday, aka, we're total irrelevant and yet this apparently "grassroots" effort is saturating the city (a lot are homemade too).
