Post subject:  My poor, poor kitty.

My cat attempted to jump from my stereo (which is sitting on a high shelf) to my bed and landed face fist on the wooden edge of my bed. As he twitches for a few seconds i try to help him and see what happened to him...

When i opened his mouth, both of his top canines were loose, hanging by a very thin layer of gum/tissue maybe even a nerve, i dont know. He passed out for a little bit i guess (a minute or two), he alse cut his lip and there was plenty of blood.

He's quiet now though, i bought him some tuna & chicken newborn food so he can eat overnight and left plenty of water. He's doing a strange meow (i guess the one that demonstrates pain) and i really wish i could just make it stop (not the noise, the pain or both). I called the animal hotline and they told me to just stick with that food for now and take him to the vet tomorrow morning.

It's amaizing how much care you have, and how effected you can get just by your pet, little things like this makes me see how strong and how weak i can be towards certain things. I feel really bad for him :(

Any pet stories?

p.s: didnt care to check spelling

Give him some medication for Christ's sake. Why are you just letting him sit there?

I have tried everything, i called they animal hotline and the told me its too dangerous to give him human medication. He might have serious reactions to it. I suggested rubbing ginger on his lips/mouth but the lady told me it would only increase the pain and not nullfy it.

She told me to basically just leave the baby food and plenty of water 'till the morning when i take him to the vet.

I have a pug puppy. Yesterday she had an allergic reaction to something (we're still not sure what from), and her face swelled to like twice its normal size. As I'm sure you all know, pugs have huge bulgy eyes... her eyes were little slits because there was so much swelling. It's also a major concern when pugs have allergic reactions because their noses are flat and it's easy for their face rolls to swell over their noses and suffocate them. This happened at 7am, about 5 minutes before I leave for work. So I had to leave her with my mom and ask my mom to take her to the vet. She had to get shots and now she's taking pills for a few days.

I've only had her for about 1.5 months, and I didn't realize how attached I am to her already until I had to leave her when she sick and I wasn't sure if she'd be ok.

my cat tried to kill himself a year after my sister died on her birthday.. he came hobbling in and went straight to the corner to die.. he wouldn't accept food, he didn't want anyone to touch him and he refused to move from the spot. So, of course, I had to scoop his ass up in a towel and endure his crazy meowing and spasming and take him to the vet. They gave him an IV and kept him for the night and lord knows what else they gave him.. but they informed us that he had a shattered hip and that he had prolly gotten hit by a car or truck (now bare in mind this cat is smarter than most humans I know: he sits when he's told to do so, he'll look right at you even if you say his name in passing and not straight to him, he knocks on the door when he wants to come in, he knows how to open the latchlock on the hall closet so he can sleep in there, he even knows various methods to get you up from a dead sleep if he wants to eat or go out. And he's never been hit by a car despite us living on busy streets for all of the 13 years or w/e that he's been with us) So, the surgery to fix his hip was going to cost in upwards of a thousand dollars, maybe more, and I love my cat, would do anything for him, but at this particular time in my life I was jobless and times were hard and I could've used 1000 dollars a lot more than my cat could. So we took him home with a lot of hope, and some simple antibiotics the vet gave us (which he, unlike other cats devoured instead of thinking them even the least suspicious) and within a week he was back to normal surpisingly, I guess he figured since he was now invincible and could cheat death why not live it up. I swear, that cat was born with 18 lives instead of 9 lol

and yeh little bob is like my only friend left in this whole world, I'm way attached to him, I've thought about getting him stuffed if he died >.>;

. . .

That's fucking CREEPY Jb, man.

/shudders

However, your cat looks simply beautiful and intelligent. To Kioto, gl!

Ever since I moved from FL to VA I had to leave my animals with my family and I miss my cat, he was so awesome. I would like to get another kitty or puppy here, but. . . Not finacially stable enough nor 'adult' enough to feed them.

TBH, I was paying my sister to feed the animals (only one was really 'mine' but she'd feed them all) for like, a couple dollars a week. (That shit adds up, if I am still paying her, I think I owe her a hundred or so. >.>)

Then again, I have never been truthfully attached to any animal. . . I like and miss my cat, but probably no where near Kio's or Jb's extent. >_<

I hope your cat is ok, it sucks to watch animals suffer, unless they're idiots like the dog my dad got me.

It was a false alarm. It's his baby tooth that was already a little loose. When he hit his head on my bed post, it just kinda helped pushing it out. When i took him to the vet, the doc just pushed it right out, he cried a little bit, but everything was alright afterwards.

He doesn't chew his hard food yet, he just swallows it lol

my black lab puppy (11 months and 60+lbs) saw me leaning back in my office chair by my computer one day and decided to say hello. He got a little too excited and ended up jumping full force into the chair, hitting me in the upper torso. I was already leaning back, so when he hit me, all my weight plus his and the force caused my chair to go from 90 degrees to 180 degrees, and i nearly busted my ass. I was so surprised about what happend that i didnt get mad at him. I had had the chair for 4 years, so it was time for a new one

oh, and my parents moved from the city and into the country and brought our old (11yrs) cat with them. cats dont travel well, and dont get used to new habitat too easy. one night, she kept scratching and mewing and just pissed my parents off, so they opened the door and let her out. (she was an inside/outside cat back in the city) in the morning my dad saw a big pile of fur out in the yard, and turns out a coyote ate her... aint that a b

I'm glad to hear the good news Kioto. Gah I'd hate to lose my cat. Except he's a pain in the butt. We have like 4 cats, and he hogs all of the food, and doesn't leave me alone, always wanting to be pet, and he comes in my room and doesn't leave me alone when I want to sleep. But it's ok I guess. Once you have a pet for a while you really get attatched. Except Armani's dog.

My gf has a cat

And my Porche has a Dmitry
