So I'm moving into a new house and with my bigger room I'll have room for a bigger TV. I'm not looking for a huge TV, just a TV that I can watch movies with my g/f or play some VG's or whatnot. I've had my little Sharp 13" TV for fucking ever and it's time to get rid of it.

I'm just looking for advice. I'd like a 27-32" LCD HDTV, but I've been outta the game so long I dunno what brands to look for or anything. So help would be awesome, thanks.

i work with TV's everyday at the Brick Distribution center in montreal. The best TV you can get for a good price and quality and decent size is a Samsung 32" or 42". any bigger then 42 the image gets fuzzy and its like that on almost every LCD or plasma display. You can get a very good HDTV with HDMI 32" Samsung for 1200-1500$ depending where you get it but if you get it you will definatly not be unsatisfied. My friend has a 42" HDTV samsung and its incredible. So thats my recomendation. If you don't wanna go with Samsung then i would say maybe Panasonic or LG. Stay away from Sharp AQUOS, Legend, Brada, Toshiba and Hitachi. its scrap, you should see how often we get bad complaints about it. Good luck in finding your HDTV :)

I have a 32" Samsung LCD HDTV that is pretty much the cleanest, best HDTV I've seen on the market for under 1000.

Got mine at Conn's, they were having some sales going on, and got it for around $850.

So far its been great, and it has a Video Game specific mode so that the Lag is calliberated automatically for the AV input (Yay for being able to play Guitar Hero again!)

Not far at all.... I'm moving from 12th St and hardy to Scottsdale and Papago. It's just like 1 mile north of the 202 right off Scottsdale road. It's a much nicer house, and much cooler roomates. I'm stoked.

the difference between the two is the contrast ratio, inputs, and size. I know for a fact that the LN-S3241D is going to be a good 4 inches wider because the speakers are on the side instead of underneath like the other model. The glossy one has a higher contrast ratio, meaning you will get a little bit more accurate black from that TV. The glossy one doesnt have any composite or s video inputs, so take that into consideration if you use them.

I have the 40" one like the LN-S3241D and it is very nice. just be ready to get HD service and/or HD movies or something, because on an HDTV, standard definition lacks a bit

heh as fucked up as it is to drive that thing, its not an every day car. For example, the attention is great but having too many people around my car gets me nervous lol i cant actually go somewhere and park it and take off. i have an LCD pannel display alarm system that tells me if someone is standing net to my car or touching it lol. brought it to school once and had to pull a sprint in the middle of class lol. Theres the security aspect and then theres the fact that if you wanted to you can burn a quarter tank in like 8 minutes with the 780cc injectors lol. full tank is like 80$ but its great for getting the chicks :D

On Topic: I can't agree more about standard definition broadcasts looking like CRAP on HDTV. Some people think watching 4:3 content stretched to fit 16:9 TV looks fine. I can't stand seeing streched images. Even not stretched it looks like crap because it's mostly very compressed and doesn't look good upscaled on your large screen. I also hate when people use their zoom feature to cut off the black bars of DVDs. I like watching stuff in it's original aspect ratio, because it looks much better. BTW 480p widescreen DVDs looks fine on HDTV IMO. It's the 4:3 stuff I can't stand.

I have a 32" CRT Panasonic SDTV that looks great with 4:3 content. So I watch regular TV on that.

Off Topic: Umm...yeah I'd love to have that fucking car. I wish they were easier to get in the states...

Looks like the samsung has a built-in HDTV tuner. Does that mean I'll get to enjoy HDTV on the channels that broadcast it and I won't have to worry about standard-def looking like crap? Or is it just a cheesy gimmick for people like me that are like "ooohhhh HDTV BUILT IN!!!" When in reality I'll have like 1 channel that MAY come in HDTV?

Just wondering what that Built-in HDTV shit means for me, the consumer, who may or may not want to watch regular TV on it.

i just bought this TV and i love it. Standard tv looks a little blurry on any HDTV. but with the digital tuner you can get most local channels in HD with a standard antenna (Smallville, Heroes, CSI, Lost.) Otherwise you need digital cable/satellite with an HD service included to get anything in true hd. It's only got 1 Component input but you wanna get an hdmi dvd player anyway, so the one is just enough for like an xbox 360 or a wii. I've been playing WoW on it with the PC input as well. Pretty sweet overall. only cost me $950 with a 2 year service plan (employee discount woohoo.)
