Chapelle's Show = Overrated

Instead of keeping a good brillant funny show like Tough Crowd on there, they are putting this unfunny commedian back on...

AND WOULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME THE FUCKING HUMOR ON BLUE COLLAR TV, HOW COULD THAT BE ON FOR ANY LONGER THAN A WEEK? Horse shit skits that's just as funny as the kids who got locked and drowned in their van at the lake...

Blue collar sucks...Tough Crowd got cancelled? I watch it every night.

And no, Chappelle show is good. Most of the fans didn't even watch the first season though, and I've been a chappelle fan for 6+ years now.

Dude. Tough Crowd Sucked BALLS.

The comedians were a) NOT political analysts b) COMPLETELY misinformed c) NOT funny d) Colin Quin's monlouges were so bad it made me cry every time I saw it.

Tough Crowd is REAL discussion. God forbid every joke doesn't land. Laughing at the failure makes me happy.

Well, lets analyze this..

1. You want political analysts, turn to CNN or FOX.... Not Comedy Central Captian "What the fuck am i watching?"

2. If you take all of what they say as to something THEY think is true, you should look at the tabloids and then post, "OMG! SOME ALIEN JUST RAPED AND IMPREGNATED SUDDAM!"

3. Some of the jokes bomb, but some are great. Some are sarcastic, and some are true views. But of course if someone's humor is that of someone who has a sig that's a pokemon sig that's an inside joke, then i'm sure you are going to miss some things in what goes from the speaker, to your ear, and then form an opinion of the show.

4. Colin quinn isn't excatly the funniest on the show, infact, he bombs quite offen. He's an Irish going for british humor in the sense that it's dry, is ironic, and constantly bombs. It's not a talk show like Conan, or even Daily show.

The problem i have with chappelle's show, is the skits are too... well, predictable. Maybe it's my fault that i think too far ahead, plus... musical guests suck, i'm sorry, Rap sucks. If i want to fill in 3 minutes, i'd have a monkey pulling on a fat mid-western house wife's hair while she screams and runs around in a circle crying. Somewhere in the middle the monkey would try to stick it in her ear... yeah, i'll giggle then.

Over all, there are 2 funny thing's in chappelle's show i can think of, and that's about it.

How did this thread go from Yarr giving a link out to a rather funny skit and commenting how he found the skit to be funny (one of the better ones he's seen in a while he specifically states) to a discussion of comedy central, some random shows I never heard about (I don't watch comedy central, I don't even watch chappelle) to chappelle sucks donkey nuts?

The skit plays on stereotypes and it's predictable, but it's still funny to watch.

PS - The nigga bought aluminum tubes!
Do I need to tell you what the fuck you can do with aluminum tubes?
Aluminum!

I watched about a minute and a half and it was so not funny. Its like he thinks saying the "n***er" every two seconds if hilarious. Um, its not.

Right. The problem isn't really the show. It's the quality of the guests and the channel it's on. Colin Quin stutters every so often but that's okay. He's probably the most informed person on that network.

If you think that people find the show funny because of the prolific use of n***** then i think you are missing one of the biggest aspects of the chappelle's show. Yes, dave does have a tendency to use the word like it's nothing, but the real comedy of the show is in the skits. Chappelle is probably one of the most hilarious comdians out there, and his show constantly hits on major political issues while being comedic at the same time. I think that's what the beauty of the Chappelles show is, that dave can turn a serious topic like the war in Iraq and put a "black" spin on it. I about lost it when i saw jamie foxx as tony blair. I guess i dont really notice the use of the word n***** anymore, and its probably a good thing that dave is taking a show with black views and introducing it to a predominately white audience.

What I find a bit ironic is that a word so commonly used back in the day by teh white folk as a derogotory term for black people now offends white people more than it does black people.

Seriously, I'm half black, and I usually just laugh. The only time I get offended is if the conversation goes something like.

Man>> You goddamned nigger, I'm gonna lynch you.
Me>> Umm, wtf.
Man>> Git teh dogs on him.

etc. etc.

Luckily I don't live in Mississippi. :o

If people stop freaking out about the word, it'll cease to be a "bad" word. Just because it has a lot of connotation and history behind it doesn't mean that everytime someone hears it they have to think of every single moment in history involving the word.

I also find it a bit odd that "derogotory" words directed toward white individuals are apparently less offensive. I don't hear too many people freaking the fuck out when someone calls a white guy a cracka.

Princess, I respect your conscience and I agree with you to a certain extent about the gratituitous use of the word. I'm not saying it should be a socially acceptable word to throw about in public but I don't think people should flip out about it either. Do you think the same way when someone lliberally uses <insert swear word here> over and over again?(asking this question because I don't know you at all haha)

That's my two cents. The skit is funny. =P
