Some of you may already know, i work at a obgyn. Today a pregenat patient came in. We take alot of tests, rangeing from stds to genetic dieseses. Now i think the worst thing possible could have happened. This woman who sought to become pregnat, because she was having trouble. Decided to take it upon herself to have sex with as many people as she can so she can become pregenat. SHe's had about 7 partners, and tested HIv + and hpv so today the doctors have to break it to her. She is going to have a beautiful child sometime soon, but she'll never see him/her grow up. I wish i could do something, but honestly i can;t

That makes me so sad. I have two young children and knowing that I would never see them grow to become adults would be the worst thing I could ever experience.

Another forum I frequent had an equally sad story about someone's step-sister. Actually, in my opinion, their story was worse.

Back on topic. Is it that hard to get to know someone before you have sex? I know someone who's sister has herpes and is sleeping around. 1st of all... use a fucking condom, they arnt too hard to put on and they dont cost much. You should always have a condom on your person if your sexually active there is no excuse. 2nd of all, if your going to have sex with someone... you should kinda know them. I mean maybe im old fashion but I dont just sleep with anyone that comes up to me. Also you ask the person before you have sex wether they have been tested and you should know you can trust that person not to lie to you.

Common sense is your best tool against STD's. A condom cant prevent 100% . Also to continue my rant, I have 3 female cousins who all have kids...they are younger then me and they already have children. Personally that sickens me. How do you let that happen? I feel sorry for the kids.


Also if this women is HIV+ and is giving birth to a kid.... thats just wrong. I would opt for abortion rather then bringing a child into the world like that.

My sister had her first kid at 16. She was raised by her grandmother while my sister spit out more kids. She had 3 kids by 23 and has 4 total.

Personally, I couldn't care less if people want to ruin their lives and get sick diseases but when it involves a child that is completely defensless that's a different story...

ok....

A. Medical science has progressed to a point where the baby can be born without HIV.

B. this does not mean she "gave" HIV to 7 people. Any of which could have given it to her.

C. You could get it from someone you knew, and they didn't know. Unless you get rapid tests every week, while being sexually active you just don't know.

D. Condoms don't totally protect against stds or pregnancy. But they are a great first line of defense they are about 99% safe if used properly. (yes you can use a condom wrong, also advised to use a mild lubrication with condoms to decrease friction and lessen chances for break)

E. Now yes this woman was being sexually careless in her desires for a baby. And yes contracted HIV, which is absolutely sad. Some people do things for reasons we will never understand. But with her not knowing i do not hold her solely responcible if the other men got it. They didn't have a relationship with her, and just as guilty for not using a condom. She was not out there with intent to harm others. And even more so, it's quite possible that a guy that had sex with her after infection even unprotected could still be neg. It is harder for a woman to give it to a man than visa versa.

This is a sad story indeed. So many factors could have left this woman desiring for a child. Someone to love unconditionally and be loved back. Without knowing the situation it's not fair to pass judgement or accuse of malicious intent. Just a girl with impared judgement that is going to pay for it. The baby will be safe, while she unfortunatly will have a very hard time to deal with, if she can even get over the initial stress and emotional destress from finding out. That in itself could cause her to miscarry or god forbid kill herself takingthe child with her. Also if he chooses to go through with pregnacy and have the baby does not mean she won't be there to take care of he/she and watch him/her grow up. Medical Science has HIV down to being like Diabetes. With close monitoring and staying ontop of medicines and treatment,you can live a long and healthy life. Youjust have have be causious of so many new things in life like germs you would have never thought of.

I am sad to hear about this, and can see why this would make your heart sink Mikey. My thought go out to her, and sorry anyone has to deal with things such as this. From the people who dirrectly have to, to the people that are effected by hearing and being involved with things such as this. Luckily NY State is one of the best states for HIV care and medical coverage offered by the state, and if she stays strong her and her baby will be just fine. Her with good care, and the baby with the love of others around it.

Condoms do protect you from std's yes. But nothing is 100% any slip up of any body fluid can possibly give you an std if you aren't careful. Most of the time condoms do the work but you gotta be mindful that even condoms sometimes break. Seriously just be careful

I would say if your having sex with someone you should know them pretty well. I mean sex is fun :P but it can be risky too if you just go out and get crazy. Although knowing someone doesnt mean your still not in risk. After all people even in relationships sometimes like to go behind your back. Which is no fun let me tell you and hurts a lot.

Thats why its honestly worth more if you just get to know and grow a real realationship with a person, rather than randomly fucking people. A good idea is to both get tested as a couple, then fuck eachother raw all you want. Just make damn sure you both are being honest to each other !
