Okay so I got all my junk in a set it up last night. Specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ link
Socket 939
Winchester Core (of course :P )

Mobo is the K8NSC link
Nforce3 (Love it so far.)

1 Gig Corsair XMS (DDR 400) link
I got the XL for the tight timings rather than the OC abilities. Timings are 2-2-2-5

The rest is pretty much the same as the old system. 6800 GT that isn't oc'd yet but will be tonight.

I love this so far. I'm running at 8x AA and 16x AF "High Quality" with FFXI running 100%+. Of course I did all the reg hacks to run at super nerd resolution and it runs so smooth. lol

Not bad. Good choice on the Corsair. I have mine running at 3-2-2-2.

And lemme know how far you can O/C that 6800 GT, some get pretty crazy results.

Thats really nice Matti, sounds like a good system for doing multiple things other than FFXI. 1GIG ram makes a HUGE difference in overall performance rather than having 512mb. Is this 1GIG 2x 512mb sticks in dual channel (if so, thats hot+1). quick question, how are the AMD64s? My last computer i bought was back in the XP barton days, is 64bit processors that much better?

I have always wondered if there were ways to spice up the graphics ingame, if you could, please PM me w/ these steps... my 9800pro is askin for it!

Which 2500+ do you have? those oc so very nice. Mine was running at 210 x 10.5 and ran Prime95 with no trouble.

I came so close to getting PCI-e and trying an X800XT but everything I've seen shows it to be about the same as the 6800 GT/Ultra and I already had that. haha

I left out the sound junk It's an Audigy2 ZS and the Creative THX 6.1.

And yeah I totally agree with your route on the 6800GT. The x800 XT PE is way too fucking rare to be worth it (the AGP version anyways) and the 6800GT overclocks and performs just about as nicely and for about half the price.

Right now I'm running on an Athlon XP 2800+ processor, 256 MB video card, 300 GB maxtor hard drive, and 2 GB of DDRAM, run's pretty sweetly.. I'm too lazy to go into max details right now, lol
