I got one for my girlfriend and she likes it a lot. Ive head (and seen) that they get scraches very easily. Although the thing seems to me that its incredibly well built for its size. Ive also seen reviews done where they basically did everything from throw the Ipod out of a car at 45mph, out of a first floor window and such. The Ipod didnt stop working until AFTER they had Thrown it out of a moving car at 20, 30 and 45 mph, then sat on it over and over, then ran it over with a car at different speads and finally they chucked it as high as they could. The screen broke after the first set of car things, but you could still use the wheele and change the songs and shuffle. Cracked but still working until finally the beat the living hell out of it. Apple put a lot of work into making these things small and very very tough. They just look and feel fragile. The old iPod are alot worse. At least the Nano has no moving parts to break or wear down. Nano only has sensors and chips. Of all the iPods its probably going to have the longest life span... as long as you dont chuck it out of your car a few times ;p Oh and Cell Phones will never do what the iPod Video can do. Cell phones are lucky to have maybe 128 megs of memory. This new iPod starts at 30gigs AKA 30,000 megs. The new high end palms are great for movies since they now have the same iPod style hard drive built in with wifi, large lcd and tons of applications avilible. |

Maybe because i own a psp and have the ability to watch movies, or maybe because i just think watching movies on my ipod would be fun, bleh. Even though i love apple products, we all know apple's claims with battery life are all gross understatements |

Arim http://www.tgdaily.com/2005/10/13/ipod_nano/index.html maybe by some super insane chance two of your friends got the .0001% of the ipod that shipped with defective screens that broke with out any effort. they have been recalled. |

Ipods suck, plan and simple. If I wanted something to carry my MP3's, video, etc. I would just carry a notebook computer around with all the acc.'s. Ipod's are a waste of $300~. I can buy a good MP3 player, batteries, and a nice 500 gig HDD for the price of an iPod. |
