Heres a funny one. I was gonna stay home today again due to the strike. Well a call from the office doctors demanding i come to work. Now one thing you guys don't know and they this office doesn't know is that when i stay in a car for extended periods of i time, i tend to throw up. Low and behold i came to work and the first thing i did was that. This strike needs to end. |

Yes, the strike is a pain in the arse. Yes, MTA workers get paid a good amount. But the main issue on the table is that pension issue. That's what's holding up the contract. Yes, it's a mess for us NY'ers caught in the middle. However, trying to throw the union leader in jail is not right. Just because someone slaps some law on the books saying that you can't do this or can't do that doesn't make the law a "valid" law. This law that says they can't strike doesn't seem right. How else are they to fight for what they want? The MTA workers are sticking together. That is what they should do. I wish the strike would end tonite if it was up to me. This whole thing has been a debacle, the union and the politicans calling each other names. While hard working citizens walk miles to work every day, and spend crazy money on cabs. End this mess already. If they put this union leader guy in jail, it's only going to make matters worse. I'm sorry, but if MTA has a 1 billion surplus of money, just cut the damn workers a slice of the cake. It's always been my thought that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of you. The opinions expressed in this post are the sole opinion of Stuck At Home Summoner Shuichi and his band of 9 Avatars. They in no way reflect the opinions of this station and it's management. |

Your stuck at work? Lol i have to go to manhattan if i like it or not. Anyone can strike. However if you fall under the classification of public service, which the mta workers do fall under. Its hightly illegal. Only because your strike is affecting millions of others jobs. Mta workers IMO are a bit spoiled. I understand they want more, thats understandable, but not this way. |

Both sides here are too filled with anger, nothing is getting done. Hopefully once this thing goes to binding arbitration we can get back to whatever was a normal NY'ers life. |

Their first day back from the stike someone's going to take an uzi to the public transit workers. I can't imagine how bad this is going to be for the workers when the finally return to work lol. This should be illegal though, b/c this would be like the Police going on strike, oh god.... |
