Ok were building my friends new compy and its got issues. First off the specs Athlon 64 2.2ghz (cant remember the core) ABit an8-Fatality 1 gig ocz pc3200 non-ecc Radion X800 - pci16 2 WD 80 gigs 500 watt ps The first board we had to rma since it fucked up. Got the second board and got everything runnin. Now the problem is when we play any game, no matter what settings the game either crashes to desktop, blue screen of death or just locks up/sometimes restarts the system. Games we have tried are CoD2, Farcry, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia This is what we have tried to fix the problem: Tried windows and games on other hard drive Underclocked the GPU Overclocked the CPU Update and tried all the drivers. Both from ATI, Abit and NVidia Tried just about every possible setting on the GPU, high-low.... Turned off VPU Recovery... etc. Did this in game also Tried a different older sound card. Creative... Same crashes Went out and got a sound card from Best Buy. Poped it in the pci slot and get this... the computer wont boot windows. No matter what mode we try to boot windows it just winds up crashing and rebooting. We checked the Voltages and they are all stable Checked the heat and the chip stays at a cool ~55c We tried flashing the bios and for some reason it fucked up and locked the system in the process of doing that. Luckly it didnt kill the bios. Any help would be much appreciated. Just post if you need any other details about the system ***EDIT 1*** All the games will start but crash anywhere from 2-15 mins into the game no matter what settings. Windows event viewer also doesnt give any good details about the errors or crashes. |

Have you tried turning down the settings on the game? Or does it crash when you start them up? |

Completely uninstall the drivers to the video card, then reinstall the latest drivers. Also, how many sticks of RAM? Just one stick of the PC3200? I doubt its the power supply, mother board, or CPU. |

This is an easy one. You need to bump your CPU Core Voltage up a little. It's a pretty common problem with the latest Abit boards. Find out what core your CPU is and look up the specs to find out what the core voltage should be then just change it in the BIOS. Abit boards are pretty picky when it comes to memory aslo but I haven't heard of any problems with OCZ mem. |
