Okay, I know that there will be comments ranging from "F- Valentine's Day" to "Why have a "holiday" for something that should be year-round?" to "I love everything", but I thought I'd make a post about it anyway.

Any plans for Valentine's Day?

My best friend and I (before this year because we both have boyfriends now) used to go to The Keg every Valentine's Day and spend $100 on drinks, food and a dessert and we even would get each other a little gift. It was always a good time and I really can say that having a gay best friend is awesome. I think we're gonna go for a Valentine's Day drink next time we see each other just for fun. Valentine's Day can be fun with friends too!

This year, with Yarr, I know we're doing something extra special which will be super awesome! HURRAY!

a bit off topic but, is it weird to call your BF yarr when you know his real name haha. do you find yourself calling him yarr irl

anyways, i dont like valentines day really... well to be honest i hate every holiday except halloween. every holiday is a marketing ploy which annoys me haha. not to mention i recently found out 90% of the roses supplied for the V-day arent even grown in america, they outsource to south american countries because of cheap labor.

this V-day ill make a card, and make dinner for my girl.

I think the most annoying thing was me calling my brother "talisin" on voicechat when we had it for CKD.

I know what you mean. I get used to calling my wife Milly in game and then when I talk to my parents or someone I instinctively call her that..

As far as valentine's goes...well....I've treated her like a queen ever since I met her so it's hard to go beyond what I already do everyday. I'll try to think of something though. haha

It's easy for her. She (and everyone else) calls me Matti irl...

No, I don't call him Yarr irl...lol Oh and he's the one who picked "Sunshine" as my name because it's been my camp name for 8 years now (we have camp names as camp counsellors at my job). It's a bit weird to call him Yarr on here, but it's not a big deal. lol

And for Valentine's Day for him, I can't really comment on what I'm going to do, but I have a few surprises up my sleeve!

anyway back on subject.

My ex really never made a fuss about V-day and ever wanting to do something special. Like Xiona, I look at it as more of a marketing thing really.

However, Sunshine loves her V-day so I thought I would do something nice (and I got a bonus this year lol) so I thought it would be nice to go on a mini vacation. Work has been insane and I really need a break (sunshine needs one just as bad from school). Basically I'm just using V-day as an excuse to do this lol. Dont tell her that.

So we are going to Niagara Falls (only 45 min drive from my house) for two nights. We are staying at the Marriot in the Junior Presidential Suite. Niagara is nothing new to us. We went a few times in the summer with friends and by our selves. Mostly we go for the kick ass ski ball on Cliffton Hill lol.

Anyway heres the discription from the Marriot website (I posted this originally for our private sections, then cut and paste it here lol)

My husband and I have never really celebrated on Valentine's day because it's just a stupid marketing scheme now, like every other holiday! We usually go out for dinner and go taboggoning or something on the 13th or 15th instead, lol, we feel so badass by resisting the 14th.

Well Sunshine and I are doing our thing on the 23-25th. We actually booked it and then were like "hey like make this our Vday thing!"

I didnt book a package or anything.

But, yeah, I totally agree that its a Marketing thing now. An easy way for Flower and Chocolate companies to cash in. Then again, thats pretty much the only time they really ever cash in lol.

I call my brother his game name on stuff, just gotta get used to it.

Im in the basement of my house and Talisin is on the upper floor. Sometime I need to yell at him (before and after we had VC) and theres been a few cases where people in my house hear

"TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL ACCEPT THE GOD DAMN INVITE" and so on.

Last chistmas (not this one) he put "To: Yarr From: Talisin" as a joke and it cracked everyone up.

And for Valentine's day our school sells roses the week before and I got two dozen, now I have no clue what to do with them.
