people actually do this haha: 
found it while browsing wikipedia looking for a definition of a science term DAG http://www.dagorhir.com/ they use foam weapons. 
why would anyone role-play as the fallen warrior? look at the guy in jeans! why do i find this so funny? |

Yeah people do Civil War battle reenactments too. Kinda a waste of time imo... but I play video games lol. Couldn't imagine doing something like that.. yeah and who wants to RP the guy who gets killed all the time, not me. |

I'm a larper (live action role play)-er but my larp has much stricter weapon and costume roles than these pictures. go ahead and laugh, but I am in fact the goblin queen.

but can't remember if I evacuated with them or not.. so maybe not anymore. |

lol that looks like something fun to try out once in awile... haven't you ever grabbed a lightsaber and kicked someones ass with the plastic sword and had fun? Its not really that diffrent a approach. In my store in jersey, my keyholder was a blackbelt and I would routinely grab my packing supplies "aka the cardboard roll of power" and attack him with it, much to my enjoyment he would hold back and fight back with a stick also instead of pwning me outright, but sometimes it livened up the store and made work more fun... gotta learn to be a kid once in awile and just let the shit fly with the wind. |

There are people who do this at a park near where me and Hale live. We occasionally bike up and watch them and laugh. I'm sure Hale has thrown shit at them while on acid by now. One time we were watching them on a bench and this crew came up to interview us for a documentary. They asked what we thought about it, ect. They also said that the straight swordplay part of it is a fully recognized sport. Of course not the LARPing aspect but there is some little sport. Then they asked if we thought they should integrate it into schools and we laughed. |

the best costumes come from second hand/charity stores. some larps will also have costumes avaible on sites for new players to borrow.. |

There is this group of people that do this kind of shit in this grass park area near my college. They have those foam weapons like that...they call it boffing, I couldn't stop laughing when I heard it was called boffing. Could they have thought of a gayer name? "Hey do you want to go to the park and boff?" Yeah, no thanks. I have this urge to just join them for 5 minutes, and just go on a boffing rampage and just smack the shit out of some guy until I'm tired and then call time out. |
