This guy recorded a video of the lineup to play Wii. The video is slight sped up and consists of him walking down the line from the start to the end.

The video is 2:14 minutes. This line up is longer than any lineup I have ever had to wait in.

Can we say that Wii has officially smoked E3?

That line is a bit too long for me to bother with, but I am still excited about the Wii. I just hate the name.

hey Yarr,

as you seem to be the authority on all that is Wii, could you please tell me what it means? I always think WWII when i see it...but I'm pretty sure that wasn't Nintendo's nintention.

Personally I thought Revolution was a hotter name.

Yarr isn't the authority on wii, lol. Wii is greater than ONE MAN! Wii is legend!

Most people liked Revolution better. They chose Wii for alot of reasons.

a) they wanted a noteworthy, controversial name
b) They wanted a simple marketing approach (they're aiming to mimic Apple)
c) Wii is unchanged in every language on the planet (unlike SNES ect)
d) They needed to eliminate abbreviation like "revo".
e) Also, the two i's represent two people or the two controllers.
f) Also it's supposed to represent WWII, as you said. Specifically the Rape of Nanjing. Apparently market research shows that horrific images can have explosive marketing potential in the 19-30 "GTA" crowd. (not really, heh)

ponuh...

I just saw that most posts about Wii are by Yarr and I asked him specifically because I know from frequenting these forums that his posts aren't full of fluff. However, thanks for the reply Ponuh, lol. I got a chuckle outta that last reason.

I've seen (and stood in) longer lines for Harry Potter books, especially book 6. Seems that nobody gets bored of the series and each new book has about 2 years worth of new readers itching to get it.

Stephen King took over 30 years to write the Dark Tower series(7 books). People hounded and hounded him to finish it for years, lol. I imagine those release date lines were pretty long also. On a side note...the Dark Tower is life changing...read it ^_^
