So, of all the summer movies that have come and gone, this is by far the one that I had been looking forward to the most. And it pretty much delivered. The sword fights were pretty fucking great, and Jack Sparrow was quirky and amusing as in the first movie. What I thought was amazing though, was Davy Jones. Played by the same dude who was Victor in Underworld and Shaun's step-father in Shaun of the Dead, Davy Jones was done with little to no make up applied to the actor. I'm still a little bit in awe of how far special effects have come in the past 15 years.

The only real problems with the movie that I had was that it was really long, and literally brought back almost every memorable character from the first, even if it didn't seem to make much sense to do so. But those are really my only complaints about the new Pirates movie. So, go check it out! Oh, don't forget to wait after the credits for some cinema secrets! It's pretty great. Haha.

I saw this movie on opening night with Talisin, Mikey and Sunshine.

It was a great movie and I was really looking forward to this one.

Reinheld really covered the movie pretty well and with out spoiliers its hard to really talk about the movie in more detail than what Reinheld did. I agree the movie was really long and only near the end did it feel like it was dragging on. Although when the movie ends you understand why it felt like it was dragging on. I wont say why or I will give the ending away.

I thought the special effects in this movie were done very very very well. The crew of The Flying Duchman were awesome. Like Reiheld said, there was very little makeup used but the special effects were very very convincing. Most important, all the characters were very detailed.

The Kraken was also done very well.

This movie and Superman Returns were the movies I really wanted to see and by far both these movies gave exactly what I wanted.

I saw it opening night and like a thousand people said it was too long but it didn't matter so much to me. They pull off sillyness in a way that doesn't make the movie corny. All in all it was great and I imdbed the 3rd one and it comes out 2007 =)

yeah it was great, i want to see it again asap lol, i usually dont care about movie length so it wasnt an issue........ending i was kind of shocked about at firt but i quickly realized it was really nice lol with that little surprise at the end. So yeah can't wait for the 3rd, AND they did officially get Keith RIchards from the Rolling stones to play Jack's father (depp has said richards is his chief influence)
