Eh I have seen the trailer, but that is supposed to be the Alien symbiote.. hard to tell if it is Parker or Brock it is taking over, but I would have to say its Brock becoming Venom. Hope the movie is good as they already botched the webbing which is one of the cooler things about the Alien suit... Parker didn't have to keep making webbing and relying on a mechanism that jammed to shoot webbing. The costume had its own webbing of sorts. They fucked that up in the first movie by making the webbing a part of the mutation and coming out of his wrists lol.

yeh I saw this earlier today, it just reinforces that topher grace is gay as venom and they needed someone bigger but alas, I hear that the venom stroyline is going to be completely based on the notion of "what would've happened if peter parker decided to be a bad guy instead of a good guy" and doesn't have anything to do with alien symbiots attaching themselves to people during the secret wars

Venom in the movie will be almost identical to Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics and not an alien. And Eddie Brock is a reporter that Peter Parker/Spider-Man accidently ruins the career of, and forever holds a grudge against the two of them. When Brock figures out Parker is Spider-Man, all his anger is projected on him, sorta like what happened with Harry Osborne.

This one is fanmade, but I like it alot.

Agreed. Topher Grace is one of those guys who people don't really think much of, but he's actually a great actor.

What was that movie where the older woman fucks topher grace cuz he reminds her of her teenage boyfriend? is that In Good Company.

Anyways, its not that i think topher grace is a bad actor. I think hes really good, but besides his role in that seventies show, its hard to see him playing anything exciting, and definitely not someone who is supposed to be "bad ass." Has he done anything like that before?

Nope, this is his first "badass" role. And he was in Traffic which was great. In Good Company is the one where he's with Scarlet Johanson and he's her father's boss.

Topher Grace is such a one trick pony. Actors shouldn't make the role adapt to them. They should adapt the role. Not enough Marlon Brandos anymore. Topher Grace is that 70's Show Dude in every role.

Basic sum of who Venom\Eddie Brock is in the different marvel universis



Normal Marvel World (Earth 616)

Eddie Brock
Brock is a rival reporter to Peter. Brock is trying to figure out who is beind the "Sin eatter" attacks. Spider-man is also trying to do the same. Eddie finds a guy who gives a full confesion and is locked up as the man behind the "sin eatter" attacks. Brock is in his glory. However this is cut short when Spider-man finds the real "Sin Eatter" and police soon find out that the man brock found was just a guy who likes to try and take credit for other crimes and confesses to just about anything.
Because of this brock is basically ruined as a reporter. He is a joke to all his peers and he goes into a deep depression. He then goes to a church to pray because he plans on killing himself.
At that same moment Peter Parker is in the bell tower of the same church trying to free himself of the Alien Costume. Parker manages to free himself. It is assumed the alien dies now that it does not have a host and we only see it slink away. However the Alien just slinked down and finds Brock. Now the costume and brock become Venom. Brock hates Spider-man and so does the alien.
Because the suit was just on Spider-man it uses the same abilities. So venom gets most of spider-mans poweres. The suit also knows how to get around spider-mans "spider senses".

Symbiote Costume

In the 80s DC did a big comic book event called "crisis on infinite earths" and it proved to be a big money maker. So marvel not wanting to be out done did a big comic book event called "Space Wars" where the biggest Heros and Villians were "taken hostage" by a super villian (I forget his name) who made them all fight. The whole thing had a big line up of action figures and what not and was really just a big marketing money maker. During this Mini-Series spider-mans costume was damaged and he was told that there was a device that would fix it. Peter accidentally opened the wrong container. Rather than opening the container that had the repairing kit, he opened one with an black goop. This goop was the Symbiote Costume.
Peter used this costume for a while until he figured out it was making him way more violent and it seemed to have a mind of its own. Mr Fantastic helped Peter get rid of the costume using super sonic sound waves. However the costume still found its way back to peter. He was finally able to seperate himself from the Symbiote Costume in the bell tower of a church using the loud bell sounds to "kill" the alien.



Ultimate Marvel Universe (earth 1610)

In this version of the story Peter Parker and Eddie Brock are cousins. Their fathers were scientist who worked together. Im not too familer with the story, but Peter's father was trying to design it as a cure for cancer. While Eddie Brocks father was trying to make it a living weapon. I think, they may have actually been both trying to make a cure for cancer, but I dont really remember that well. I dont feel like digging up the comic haha.
Anyway, the project was put on perma hold. Peters father died and so did Eddies. Peter and Eddie stumble onto the project together. Eddie wants to use the device but peter does think its a good idea. They get into a fight over it. In the end they decide to just leave it alone for now.
Peter then accidentally exposes himself to the suit and gets the black spider-man costume. Eddie eventually finds out and is furious. Like in Marvel 616 peter becomes more violent and finds the suit is controlling him. He uses his own will power to seperate from the costume and I forget how brock is exposed to it. Anyway brock is exposed and becomes venom.
I really dislike how Ultimate Marvel did the story so I only read the story once.



Anyway like reinheld said, Topher's character seems to be more akin to the Ultimate version of Venom\Eddie Brock. That being that Venom in the movie will probably be more of a "What if Spider-man was evil" type of deal. Where as Venom in Marvel 616 is his own character(although he is much like an evil spider-man, but more of an anti hero than the Ultimate Venom is).


Anyway Im done flexing my nerd muscle. Thats who venom\eddie brock is for those who are interested. Feel free to post any corrections. Im sure i made some errors in the story.

Is the 2nd Spider Man movie better than the first? I didn't like the first one after about halfway through, so I never bothered with the 2nd one.

i just hope theres some good action/fights for venom... too bad carnage wont be in the movie tho :/

yeah 2nd one is much more epic and really shows you the different characters and their ups and downs, the action sequences are much better and cooler, ending is better than the first too

In movies, i guess to keep the realism of things. They tend to kill the characters off. I really don't think thats an all that great of a trend. Batman actually did well by not letting its bad guys really die.

It would have been kinda of cool if they didn't let doc oc die. Maybe thats just movie.
They also may just make venom show at the very end of the movie. Opening up a possiblity for venom's offspring carnage. But that would make spiderman 4 probably the most violent of all the spiderman movies lol.

I just hope that when Venom is Venom he still talks and everything like he does in the comics. It'd kind of suck if they just turn him into a snarling werewolf type beast or something.
