Hi. I was thinking about this the other day on my way home for work. What if you could pick 10 (and only 10) cds to listen to for the rest of your life? What would they be? (btw box sets don't count, nor can you list multiple albums by one artist and count them all as one, though 2disc sets can be counted [ie. Pink Floyd - The Wall, etc.]) Mine (in no specific order): 1) Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut 2) Converge - Jane Doe 3) Doors - Greatest Hits 4) Sonic Youth - Sister 5) Radiohead - The Bends 6) Sunny Day Real Estate - How It Feels To Be Something On 7) Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream 8) Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come 9) Placebo - Without You, I'm Nothing 10) Sublime - s/t I know I'll probably think of some way greater ones later on and be pissed I didn't pick those, but I think this is a good mix of a lot of different styles and would last me awhile before I got insanely bored to tears with the selection. |

9) Placebo - Without You, I'm Nothing thats a good album, not many people really listen to or even know who placebo is. |

It's true, I hardly ever find anyone who knows/likes them, or when people have heard of them it's always.. "oh yeah, they sang that horrible pure morning song..." (which i think is still a pretty decent song, even if it received too much airplay). A lot of folks can't tolerate Brian Molko's voice either... but I like it, if for nothing more than being different and individualistic. Black Market Music, and Sleeping with Ghosts were both pretty decent albums by them too. |
