If anyone has the chance to see Candlebox live, do it. Even if you don't know who they are, buy tickets and go. I just got home from their Orlando show and I must say it was probably the best concert I've ever been to. They have an incredible presence on stage that you don't see with many bands anymore. They are a little mix of grunge/blues/rock which makes for a very stimulating show. They are a little older, it's been 7 yrs since they last toured, but damn do they still have it. Kevin Martin was all over the stage and very engaging with the crowd. The guitarists were also very energetic and played to the crowd. They truely understand that music is about the crowd and the fans.
A fight broke out in the middle of the show, and Kevin Martin handled amazingly. He stopped the show and made it clear that he wouldn't tolerate it in their show. Yes, Candlebox is fairly heavy, but it's not a heavy metal group. He also realizes what his major demographic is and that's women. Women don't go to shows to be beat up. They go to enjoy themselves and he reinforced that.
They also had an awesome band opening for them, Driveblind. They're out of Scotland and were amazing. I hope they make it far because lately I've noticed a severe lack of Rock bands, in it's true sense. Yeah, there's lots of Emo bands, and hardcore bands but not that many rock bands. They are what rock is. They also have a kick ass keyboardist, yes, I said keyboardist. The man was so animated and having such a good time that the band could probably have sucked and the set would have still been good.
Welp I just thought I'd share an experience.
