I found a really great video clip on YouTube that I'd like to use in a lesson plan I am designing through power point. Is there a way that I can save the video from YouTube and insert it into one of my slides? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gShpVqwz2VU |

there is a program you can use to "rip" the video of of youtube. It takes the streming content and turns it into a video file. I don't know the name of it though, it always pops up when I'm looking for anime. But as for the possiblity, its totally possible. I don't know the name of the program or whether its free either. Might have to get a pirate copy once you find out the name. EDIT I'm pretty sure if you just embed the file, the device showing your powerpoint will try and connect to the source file on youtube? I never checked to see if powerpoint supports embedding.. |

Since the original question has been answered, I'm going to go off-topic and say that if I had known that this movie would have been like 3 and a half hours of gay love, I wouldn't have bought it. That's the risk you take when the majority of the DVDs you buy are of movies you've never seen before. ******Spoiler****** Could have made the movie fight into an hour if they took out all the scenes of sexual gay tension between Alexander and that knob of a tool servant guy. |

I have yet to see the movie, heard good things about it. But every now and then someone complains about the gay overtone. Is the movie really that hardcore about the gay relationship? Isn't it like a proven fact homosexuality on the field, was just a means to an end, not really like a whole epic love story type thing? I had always had that interpretation from something I read that, it was more a "fuck-buddy" type thing rather then a romance deal. |

lol i dont think Sunshine really cares about the movie itself. anyway I got it done, thanks for the link Daedalan. I had to figure out how to convert the format. Although sunshine ended up grabing the movie from her parents house so I have a feeling ill be ripping the scene myself anyway. |

I had always had that interpretation from something I read that, it was more a "fuck-buddy" type thing rather then a romance deal. I think you're right about the means to an ends thing. As for the movie... All I can say is that I'm easy to please when it comes to movies. Even movies that most people think suck hard, I'm okay watching, just 'cause I'm easy to please. This movie, however... I watched it once, and I really have no desire to put it back into my DVD player. I obviously used hyperbole about it being 3 hours of the 3 and a half hours, or whatever it was, but the gay overtones did play a way larger part in the movie than I would have preferred. I was hoping for something more Troy-like, and even that movie was kinda gay. I guess having some fight scene followed by 20 minutes of gayness, followed by another bit of plot and then another 10 minutes of some girl upset about the gayness was all pretty lame. |

Thanks for your help everyone! The part of the clip I'm using is the part with the letter from the mother (Angelina Jolie). I'm not going to go into the gay undertones. That's a whole other lesson. lol |
